Morning all. Blue sky in the north and black cloud in the south. There is a distinct smell of a bonfire in the air, and the smoke is down the north end on the village, so I suspect that the blue is likely to be coming this way.

Morning all. Bright and sunny, but quite cold here. Yet another shopping trip today. I wonder what will be on the menu at the restaurant we use on these expeditions. :emoticon-0100-smile

Morning all from a chilly rural France. Yesterday on my way home from the shopping trip, along the A20, there was a car on it's side, and engulfed in flames. It appeared to have got the wrong side of the armco barrier. Unless the occupants got out before the fire, their chances of survival would have been very poor such was the intensity of the fire. The drivers who seem to think that the speed limits don't apply to them, do seem to slow down for a time after such a sight.

Friday night French football due to start in an hour. The temperature has been below zero all day, and likely to drop quite a bit this evening. There comes a time when football is best watched from inside.

After a couple of days of freezing weather here, we've got steady rain this morning. jerzeypie and I have got the annual softball meal with our team-mates this evening. I think of it more as an end of year meal than a Christmas one, mainly because the Italian restaurant we're going to doesn't do a Christmas menu.

Hi Brian, Sorry I forgot to take your phone or email details during our chat the other night, I now have it. Glad you are now sorted with the help of Frenchie, I was only the messenger.

Heavy frost last night, but by the time I woke up it had started to rain, and now the temperature is rising. Due to a decline in the numbers our local food bank is now asking for specific items, not so much food, but things like toothpaste, shampoo and babies nappies. As our monthly dinner group meets tomorrow we will do our best to oblige, but we do forget that some of these everyday items are very much needed.
I did see a news item on UK TV last night about the supermarket chain Morrisons selling a complete Christmas dinner in a pasty. Not sure that the family would appreciate them even if they were available here. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Well my little Canary the gods have shone upon us and again the 'orns and the Canaries do not overlap. Get the feeling this could be another close heart stopper but with our 'on fire' man I think we should see the right result. I feel a 6 pointer day coming up <cheers>

Mornin' all. Blue sky, fresh but not too cold, and no rain forecast over the coming festive period. The good news in Spain is that the resevoirs are twice as full as a year ago.

    Enjoy

Great news here is that I've found a supermarket selling nice small crunchy brussel sprouts. Pastry is cheap enough but Mars bars cost a bit. Can I substitute Nestle chocolate superhorns or would that breach some Glaswegian law? ;)
