Guess I should clarify, with that it was reported that he wanted to return to Spain in the summer, not sure if he has said that himself publicly
Moscow White on Twitter and he is usualy on the ball. It is a loan in the best interest of the player and his family at the moment. Whether it remains a loan is anyone's guess at the moment. I will be sad to lose him permanently though.
I’m not a fan of his mate, same as Whelan he does my head in too, I’m just saying an ex footballer picked up on Saiz being overweight and unfit. Bielsa then three weeks later states virtually the same
I was messing with you. NO ONE is bigger than this club as you know and that you have seen over the years.
I’d imagine his personal life with wife’s scare and losing a child made him realise football isn’t the most important thing, this had a knock on effect to his training and attitude and not giving 100% Going home to a possible homesick wife probably didn’t help either so his agent engineered a swift move. Bielsa wants a tight camp, dropping Saiz to the U23s never worked so what do you do next? I’m reading it’s a £6m fee at the end of the loan, we want it to be permanent they want it as optional because basically they’re broke... If they ain’t got it now they won’t have it in 6 months. This will end in a player refusing to return and one of those “both parties” agreed to terminate the contract scenarios, you see we’ll get sweet FA for him hence why I’d tell him knuckle down and a promise to allow him a move in June.
So **** all to do with his 'mental health' then Some people just can't help but look for things that aren't there
Based on my experiences and understanding of depression, it's a possible fit, if not probable. As for his weight, as far as I'm aware he's the same weight as he was when he was playing well, this season & last. He's not anywhere near fat, but Bielsa set all the players a 10% body fat target, and he hasn't made it. You also have to realise that when he has got game time, no-one has complained about his fitness, or him being fat. Only about lack of end product, poor passing, poor decision-making etc., etc. In fact, just like last season. So in summary, there's no change in his physical capability. Which leaves whatever is going on in his head. There's more to make me suspect, but it would take a lengthy FTF conversation to express it fully. I realise that I might be quite wrong! And for his sake, I hope so. But I have a feeling he is no stranger to depression, nor was he when he joined us. Which is why I believe Getafe are the only club in the picture. And tbh, there's no guarantee he'll play for them. Signed, The Conspiracy Theorist Extraordinaire.
Oh well I'm sure in a couple of months most Leeds fans will be saying Saiz was a useless fat bastard (even though he isn't) that's the usual way when a good player leaves
Ristac, I'll freely admit that as soon as I heard the news and read the stories about it, I wavered to the side of this being an emotional issue, and I guess you can call it more of a gut feeling than anything else, or just the way I have interpreted the facts. I take you point about the recent rumours regarding his fitness etc, however those same rumours have been reported previously during the summer and in October, by Phil Hay, so is it the club that are releasing that information again now, is it just a rehashing of a previous story to fit the rumour of him leaving, or are these part of the symptoms part of the emotional problems that he may be having. However early on in the thread many posters were stating that they felt letting him go to Getafe on loan seem a stupid idea, and I think you were in agreement to that (even if you didn't say so in those exact words), I guess I am offering a potential reason for why the club have acted like it has ( and I'm not sure if we have had heard anything official yet, I can't really comment about news from other sources, mainly as I have no idea who is usually reliable or not with those type of stories). I also said that maybe Saiz has told the club to do one and he is happy to sit in Spain for 2 1/2 years doing nothing, until his contract expires, and that could also be another reason for the club doing the deal that is proposed. What I am trying to do is come up with logical reasons as to why the club are acting in this way with the transfer, and whilst I feel that this could be related to health issues (and I know that WJ has the same thoughts), I know that Wakey favours the second scenario, which is equally as valid for the process, but the majority of the other original posts in the thread regarding the subject have just commented mainly about the transfer, and that we should tell him to buckle down, and wait till summer etc. However until there is an official announcement from the club, no one actually knows, all we can do is offer an opinion as to why the transfer is being structured as is, as obviously a lot of posters on the thread have been of the same mind as you, of why loan him instead of selling him, and I have been offering an opinion on why that may be the case. I'd be more than happy to hear other opinions that would justify the proposed transfer scenario, as I don't think there is anyone on here that wouldn't prefer to get a fee for him as soon as the transfer window opens if that was viable as we have to gather that the club keeping him is not a valid option
I think in todays snowflake society if Saiz had mental problems it would be out there and everyone would know, it would be all over the media, telling us how tragic it is i don't know much about depression (even as a long suffering Leeds fan) but I remember as a teenager I was pissed off because this big titted girl I was seeing kicked me to the kerb for a "mate", well, I told my Da' I was depressed and didn't want to go to work, he slapped me round the back of the head, kicked me up the arse and told me to "****ing get to work ya lazy soppy bastard and man up" yep, that's where I get my tourettes from, my dear ol' da'
Well according to Elland, I'm Scully to his Mulder, so maybe you will see us both on the new tv show The Estate Agent X Files (not that I am an estate agent thank god). The truth is out there
