We beat them last year, so I'd prefer someone else. Porto seem like the easiest side available, if that's the right word, but Dortmund are probably already having nightmares about Son. Getting our own revenge on Juventus would be nice, but they're an even harder draw now they've got Ronaldo. He didn't save Real against us last season though, so who knows?
I can't wait for the Daily Wail to shriek about how an immigrant expects the good, hard working English lads he employs to work on Jesus' birthday...
Anyone noticed in recent discussions about "champions-elect" Citeh, the pundits can't help mentioning about how many injuries they have? Excuses for them not running away with the league as predicted perhaps? Anyway, just to compare with the pundits reaction to our injuries, which has consistently been to mention that any problems resulting from this is because we didn't sign anyone. Well putting aside the rights or wrongs of us signing someone, you can be sure that Citeh have signed all manner of incredibly expensive backups, yet are still given the excuse of their best players not being available. Just (yet) another example of double standards.
Just adopt the attitude that Pochettino showed in the press conference today about the hack/pundit pants-down fest.
From the BBC website... Chelsea say fans who sang an anti-Semitic chant in the Europa League game with MOL Vidi have "shamed the club". A vocal minority chanted offensive songs about Tottenham fans early in Thursday's 2-2 draw in Hungary. That came days after four fans were suspended for allegedly racially abusing Raheem Sterling. "Anti-Semitism and any kind of racial or religious hatred is abhorrent to this club and the overwhelming majority of our fans," a spokesman said. "It has no place at Chelsea or in any of our communities." Willian and Olivier Giroud scored free-kicks for Chelsea, who had already qualified for the knockout stages, in their draw in Budapest. "Any individuals that can't summon the brainpower to comprehend this simple message and are found to have shamed the club by used using anti-Semitic or racist words or actions will face the strongest possible action from the club," the spokesman added. Apparently, the "strongest possible action" won't extend to having to meet the cost of the mini-bar or room service incurred during the usual free trip abroad awarded to the perpetrators.
You see if we don't get blamed because they used the ''Y'' word. It will be turned around onto us and the whole debate will start up again.
This horrid little club has been linked with the majority of the worst examples of racism both on and off the pitch, both from its players and fans for many years. How the hell isn’t it now the time to adequately punish the root cause of the problem - the club itself? I have no doubt that a +30 point deduction, a season ground closure or a fine in excess of £50m would focus the minds of the collective and change the mentality at the core of the problem. Won’t happen though - expect a further warning, nominal fine or nothing at all.......
Let's just see if the weak link of two 90s standup acts has tweeted anything about this ...nope, not quite
The angry little Portuguese bloke has been getting his excuses in early for Sunday's performance... "It is not just about spending the money. It's like a house, it's just about buying the furniture, you have to do work, you spend money on the best possible furniture and then you're ready to live in an amazing house." Well, I think he's well on the way, Matic, Lukaku, Jones and Fellaini definitely have all of the mobility of a sideboard, a really big, heavy, oak one, full of stuff you never need but just can't bring yourself to chuck out.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is growing increasingly angry at the Old Trafford club's board over a lack of transfer activity. ...has anyone told him how transfer windows work?
Harry Rednapp knows all about transfer windows and is free after his rumble in the jungle. They would have to give him a private jet to get to and from Sandilands every day, but they could do a lot worse, in fact they have a lot worse. Sandra could replace Lukaku as well.
It wouldn't be much of an upheaval to the present regime, given how their current manager has been grousing about needing to get two or three players in all season...
Spurs are on their way to Auschwitz !!! Only when we get demoted to the Emmerdale League on thursdays.
What's so easy about Porto PNP when they finished the group stage unbeaten and with more points than any other side?
