Izzy Brown on Saiz two weeks ago.... “Technically he’s unbelievable. Some days in training you can’t tackle him,” Brown said of Saiz. “They play football how football should be played: high intensity and winning the ball back in the opposing half. It’s a treat for an attacking player to play in a team like this.”
Not at all Chesh, I imagine that the club have contacted a number of Spanish clubs over the past few months in an effort to help Saiz, and that after all those talks, this is the best offer for both player and clubs involved. I am more than willing to admit that I have totally the wrong end of the stick, but just maybe the situation is a lot more serious than people are considering
Seems to me this is the only club interested, they are skint hence the loan as they can’t stump up the transfer fee in January, only at the end of the season which means we can’t afford to buy a replacement. Odd business by the club unless as you say they are really looking out for the welfare of the player.
Is he a massive loss? If all is true he’s joining a team 8th in La Liga, chances are that one of his first games will be against Barcelona. That’s quality that will be missed in this division and costly to replace
He's only made one appearance in top flight football in his whole career to date. This was when he was previously at Getafe when he came on for the last 12 minutes He didn't score his first senior goal until 3 years ago, for Huesca in the Spanish second division, when he was 24 A very late developer or is there another reason why he played mostly in the second and third levels of Spain?
And it may also be a case of just doing the best we can. For all we know Saiz may have said that he was going to do similar to like Craig Johnson did with Liverpool, and just walk out whilst remaining contracted to the club and thus be unable to play football for the next 2 1/2 years. As Chesh said maybe then Saiz's agent has been touting all the Spanish clubs telling them of Saiz's intentions and thus Spanish clubs have been able to take advantage of this. Thus with the Getafe rumoured offer, we as in the club, may be able turn this whole mess into something where they actually receive a fee. So with either potential serious health issues making Saiz a total liability at present to us or Saiz just sticking two fingers up at the club, there are two totally polar opposite reasons why this may be the best deal the club can get. The club could also be run by a bunch of neanderthals, unfortunately not a lot we can do about that if true
We've lost Saiz, cos Mrs Saiz, She can't stand it here in Engerland She came from sunny Spain, She didn't like the rain, We've lost Samu Saiz.
credit to those who take the time to lay their thoughts set out in rhyme no matter if the lines fall flat though tends to make them look a twat
In my opinion there is more to this than meets the eye. Look after your players wishes OK I can accept this if he is not happy but to send him out on loan which is/could be detrimental to the aims of the club looks to me like very bad business. We are told that Rad's is a good business man so something does not ring true. Aspecially as we are lead to believe Radz could do with a bob or two in the kitty.
Hey you respect please to one of our own you may speak like that on your board but on here we don't tolerate such poor taste.
I think we would struggle to get 5m,because worth it or not he's only interested by all accounts in going to a spanish club,i maybe wrong so don't quote me on that.
Not over the moon about this but when I see him now and the second half of last season, compared to the start of both seasons I see an ordinary player and a brilliant player. Its the brilliant player I want not the ordinary Joe. None of us are aware of whats been going on even though Bielsa has obviously spoken to Saiz so we should just wait and see what happens. If it was my choice and I wanted Saiz to stay and be a big part of the promotion push, I would say OK Sam you fly home every Saturday night and you fly back Wednesday. Whilst at home you go and train every day at the local club, you are responsible for your fitness. If you come back unfit no wages. This would give him more time at home than be in Leeds and it would also mean he misses mid week games so maybe a drop in wages pro-rata. Or you cut your losses loan him out hoping his wife has the kid, he sorts his head out and comes back in the Summer, or is sold off. In todays climate on mental health Leeds could be accused of a crime and constructive dismissal by making his head worse. Yeah I know its bollox but its factually aticking time bomb. Look at Griffiths the Celtic player, head goes, allowed to go home and come back when he sorts his head out. Mental health is used as a huge issue these enlightened times
Do you remember Andy O'Brien. He had mental health issues and told Leeds he couldn't play for them. After Leeds 2–1 win against Burnley on 19 November, manager Simon Grayson revealed post match, that O'Brien had come to him the day before the game and refused to play for Leeds ever again. Grayson subsequently stated that O'Brien's career at Leeds was now over due to his refusal to play, however, it later emerged O'Brien's refusal to play was down to the fact he was at time suffering from depression and was "not in the right state of mind" when he stated he would no longer play for Leeds
afternoon all only just getting the gen on this as it's silly season at work. look if he can't hack it at a big club then send the soft bastard to sulk elsewhere.then he can spit at who he wants and run around waving imaginary cards at players who tickle him. we signed a player once i tnink it was kevin nichols who bottled it and fecked off to hull without playing a game.so many can not handle being at Leeds and Saiz is one of them.mental health issues ha ha now that makes me bloody laugh. but wait i have a better idea it's that time of year when all vertically challenged thespians are in big demand.he could do his card routine on stage while running around shouting something daft in a false english accent.
Elland what might be an idea is if you contact Stats and ask his opinion as Im sure he will give you one. Be interesting to hear what he has to say
But that's the issue, if it was just that he couldn't hack it here, then we wouldn't need to rush in getting him out of the club, we could wait for an appropriate transfer bid that is acceptable to the club from anyone, not just a Spanish side (as being argued by a lot of the folk on here), so for once I will have to disagree with you Wakey. No doubt you would have said the same about Gary Speed, if his issues had been hinted at prior to his death
Don’t dispute that, point I was making is that it is decent club at a decent level that wants him. Testament to how Leeds develop players.
