Just watched the under 21's game and i have to say this guy is one hell of a talent. England were one down at half-time against Israel and he came on and set up three and won a pen. His pace is surreal but the scary thing is that he makes the right decisions 9 times out of 10. He can play as a proper winger and stay out wide and cross. That comes natural to him unlike Theo. He can also play from midfield and with that pace and technique he could be the perfect attacking player running from midfield. Makes him hard to pick up if he plays in midfield. But for now he is playing on the right and has set up 5 goals in 2 games for the Under 21's. And that is where he should play for us now. When did we last have a winger that can cross? The boy adds something new to Arsenal and god knows even Chamakh might get a bit of form because he could finally have a player that might pick him out with a cross. We might see that in the Carling Cup. Can't wait to watch him in action for us.
I was under the belief that Arsenal don't cross because you guys don't really score headers, or have anyone up front who has that specific skillset. Being more technically adept than most, you prefer to 'walk it into the net' so to speak, low crosses for volleying, etc, etc. Very rare to see Arsenal score from a headed cross outside of set-pieces.
I saw it too, he really did look good. Of course I still don't think we shouldn't have bought him but I may as well appreciate him. Looks better than Walcott did when he was 17.
Not sure what is your point, if you have a player that you know can cross then you would adjust your game. A player like Van Persie is not stupid. Look at his height he can head if he wants to. Before he knew we did not have players that liked to cross. Van Persie last season scored a few with his head and can score more if the service is right. And AOC can cross for fun. Its amazing how good he was tonight in this aspect.
his proper position is central midfield, he played on the wing last year because its almost physically impossible to play in the middle as a 17 year old in league 1. with a bit more experience (he has great footballing brain )he will play anywhere in midfield, up front or even cover fall back
Yeah he played there for a bit tonight. He gave a nice one touch pass to Sordell who scored a great goal.
Off course we knew he was a talent you 'noob'. But watching him in detail is not something i have done before.
seeing as we dont have 'wingers' in our system the need for one 'who can cross' is non-point. Its not 1990 anymore and we dont play 4-4-2.
No you play weak tippy tappy football and have been well and truely found out. Your rivals all have wingers and a physical midfield. Hopefully Wenger can instill some bite to your team or it could be another sorry season.
I think he will be a class player and from what I have seen so far he looks good enough to make an impact this season, but in all honesty i think wenger would have been better using that 15 million they spent on him on a world class proven player which wil make the squad better now rather than in two or three years time!
