One of my last memories of Les was coming back from Exeter v Maidstone pre-season. He had just put in a shift for Maidstone and was earning the rake of beers he was buying on the train for the journey back.
I can't remember who Les Berry's testimonial was against, but it was a joyful occasion. His name was chanted constantly, and every hoof up the park was greeted with rapturous cheers.
