I agree, if one of my preferred firm Brexiteers cannot be elected he would be an excellent candidate. The Tories are packed with numerous excellent and experienced candidates.

He obviously has a good sense of humour that some have failed to grasp.

I am quite disappointed that you didn't wish to attack his remaining civil servants. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Only those incompetent fools that came up with the backstop plan. I'm sure our resident civil servant is a very nice chap, he just needs a bit of encouragement to follow me in Tory Party membership.

Just to show that I really despair of of the political situation in the UK, I have copied this comment and pasted it here, because I agree with it.

"The nation faces its worst crisis since 1940 and we are led by two people who couldn't run a call centre and who care for nothing except their own sad, useless and destructive careers. A nauseating and heartbreaking spectacle. Whatever have we done to deserve May and Corbyn at a time like this? "

Many countries have problems, but the one in the UK is self inflicted.

France's problems were self inflicted, many fools must have voted for the boy investment banker.

Once again no answer. Just trying to deflect the debate away from the mess that you have helped to create.

You mentioned problems in other countries. Macron, the former investment banker has behaved like er.... an investment banker. He is facing a vote of no confidence due to his unprecedented unpopularity. His fiscal policy is in tatters as he pays the ransom to the rioters although actually want his head on a pole.

Would you like to comment on the situation in Australia where the immigration policies have created problems? Would you like to comment on the bizarre policies that the President in the USA is following when it comes to trying to destroy the rules of the WTO? No you only wish to comment on one country that you left years ago. If you showed a greater understanding of what is happening around the world then we might take more notice, but when you cannot see what is actually happening within there is little hope.
I take it that if the PM wins tonight you will start to support her seeing as you have paid to do so.

We are not looking to end a long term relationship with the USA or Australia. The massive problems currently being faced in many EU countries do affect the likely outcome of the Brexit negotiations.

Of course you are deeply embarrassed by your previous drooling over the Macron boy that has turned out to be a such a loser. You even suggested the UK needed somebody like him. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

So only 200 Tory MPs have confidence in the PM. This is a terrible result for her. So the Tories will continue to knock lumps out of each other. This cannot be good for the well being of the country.

Obviously the influence of the ERG is much greater than you ever thought. She will fail to get her dodgy deal agreed.

Of course she will not get her deal through the commons, that is stating the obvious when all the opposition is against it, but hardly much to do with the ERG. The DUP on their own can vote that down.

So I can assume that you will now consider that your £25 is rather wasted as there will not be another vote before you are asked to cough up again.

Rather interesting that this was a secret vote - so voters will never know how their constituency MP voted. If all votes in Parliament were carried out in this way it would lead to some very interesting results.

That is an interesting thought cologne, and would actually break down the party system with the whips etc. Not sure how the electorate would judge if their MP was voting as they would like.

  17. 52% is a landslide but 63% is a crushing defeat - when did they stop teaching arithmetic at Eton? <whistle>

At one time the Conservative Party stood for sound money and social responsibility. When the party came to power the national debt was way below the £1.8 trillion that it is now, so hardly sound money. The social responsibility has also gone, with the poorest often being the ones who are suffering the most. This is showing all the signs of my old county council who have gone bust following Tory principles. Maybe the government should send in commisioneers at £800 per day to run the government as they have done in Northampton.

With the whinging on here for a massive increase in government spending the national debt would be much higher, indeed it would out of control as it is in France.
