These are absolute legends, and will forever go down in club's history. However it's nice from time to time to mention those who made a smaller impact but were loved. Sibierski will never go down as a legend of the club (with regards to achievements or playing ability), nor will half the other players mentioned on here, but the thread is a bit of fun about adopted geordies, not who are our greats. If it were a thread based on our greatest players I very much doubt Andy O'Brien or Olivier Bernard would get a mention!

Yeah I heard he was good. I did mention Terry Mac and Kevin Keegan earlier on in the posts. I never saw them play before but heard they were good :)

Mirandinha was the first foreign player I really liked. In my mind he's an adopted Geordie.

the thing about him he was a legend wherever he played not the best but a total 110% player pure class

didn't want to lighten the mood like just thought some of the ones i mentioned deserved a plug so to speak

Am I the only one who loves Aaron Hughes? haha

I honestly think he is the most underrated player in the Premier League and would welcome him back with open arms

Had a decent goalscoring record too didn't he? I think the work rate subject always gets brought up in discussions such as this, it's always nice to see a player work his backside off for the shirt and they are usually loved for it. Sadly that is a trait which is lesser seen in the modern day. Sick of hearing how most players have 'all the ability in the world' and would be the greatest ever if only they could 'have the right mental attitude'.

Having supported the buggers since 84 I think I am applicable for adoption.

McCreery was like that remember he was always doubtful but always played and was one of the best players on the park

This! But, about 12 years later as I imagine I'm 12 or more years younger <whistle>

Never supported any other team, never thought about it, never ever want to either!
