not had chance to see any highlights and although head a bit fuzzy for some reason the Mrs has decided i've got jobs to do so some quick thoughts. Offensively we are slowly getting back to form just need to start putting away the chances we are creating. Lovely to see Mo getting his touch back (well apart from that great chance from Robbos pass after about 5 mins) and running at people again. Thought midfield whilst never fully clicking always had at least 1 of the 3 playing well . The defence only really gave the 3 sights on goal and can only remember the 1 shot on goal but that was never going to beat Allison Just need to find out TAA is ok. Shout out to the crowd for being noisy but staying calm(ish). Honestly thought it was surprisingly comfortable only slight regret is the scoreline didn't reflect the game and a couple of pointless yellows which may matter in the R16.
That was a great combination of the Liverpool of last season and Liverpool this season. The high energy pressing, progressive quick football combined with a defensive resilience, and in truth it deserved to be far more comfortable than it ended up being. The positives are (obviously other than being through) is that you can see the interchanging is starting to return, despite Mane fluffing so many chances at least tonight he was in the right situations. Salah, was playing on the shoulder and Firmino was in the middle making space. That for me is the most promising aspect of our play. Oh and for all the whinging about that midfield post game it turned out to be spot on and they all had solid 8/10 games so goes to show Klopp knows best.

Still don't think the midfield were that great. Henderson in the first half was as bad as ever, he took on ridiculous shots and Hollywood passes. Wijnaldum just felt like a passenger at times too. Both stepped it up in the second half, but Wijnaldum still wasn't great and Klopp wanted to take him off until Milner had cramp or whatever. Keita did more with the ball in his short time on the pitch that the other three combined

I can't remember a game when I was so nervous for so long. I had to stay up an extra half hour to calm myself down Thought Salah and Alisson were great, midfield better than I expected them to be when I saw who was on the team sheet and a good all round performance. Mané has surely got to start finding the target, he's had enough practice shots
I think the last two games have suggested that some of the fluidity of last season might just be starting to return. The finishing was poor, but the approach play much better. Bobby's Latino drug dealer look seems to suit him and Mo showed glimpses of his best. The fact that the latter has 13 goals iac despite being nowhere near the standard of last season is promising.
It said (after the Bournemouth game) 'That was probably our best performance this season. It can only get better from here'. Or words to that effect. I'd been drinking, surprisingly.
