Right, I've been thinking about this a lot of late, Ashley is everyone's figure of hate, anything that goes wrong is immediately deemed Ashleys fault, and people call for him to sell. Now. Before the 'Ashley lover' shouts come out, I think he has made monumental errors in the past, but of late, in reality, he has only made one. And it's huge.

That mistake is keeping Llambias in a job.

Ashley is the club owner, as we regularly hear, particularly in regards to Abrahamovich, the owner should jot be involved in transfers, yes he funds them, but it is not his job to get involved. In terms of communication, again, a lot of owners don't talk to fans, that said they don't all make such terrible mistakes. Which brings me back to Llambias, the way our club is structured he is the man who ultimately deals with transfers, Ashley was on holiday for the last 20 days of the window. So while I think there is an argument for Ashleys overall prudent approach, there is NO excuse for not getting a striker, I see this as Llambias 100% failing in his job, gross negligence I would say, a sackable offence. He is also the voice of the owner, we shouldnt need to be spoonfed the boards every intention, but regular, clear updates are part of Derek's remit, guess what he falls down completely there too.

With everyone instantly going for Ashley whenever anything goes wrong, perhaps this anger is somewhat misdirected. Word from a number of media sources, especially Douglas and Ryder is that Ashley is quite hands off, and Mark Douglas even went as far to say that Ashley had expected to see a striker when he returned to the club. With the recent Chronicle Q and A we as fans could have put pressure in Llambias as he is the person who has consistently failed in all he has been asked to do.

So my thinking is if Ashley wants to take a back seat, and try to win back a small amount of the fans respect, he could oust this buffoon, who has consistently proved himself to be inept and replace him with a footballing man, dare I say it, like Niall Quinn. He could then sit back, let someone with a clue run the day to day, and regain some well need trust, perhaps then people would be more willing to buy into the economy drive.

Sadly, I doubt it'll happen, but maybe we could try some Llambias out banners and sack the board chants, there's a lot more chance of Ashley sacking Derek than there is him selling. We live in hope....

I agree this could change things

I wouldn't mind Chris Mort back - he seemed like a decent sad cockney bastard...

Probs wouldn't. I suppose Ashley did the right thing in getting rid of Dennis Wise - maybe he will do same with Del Boy

I think someone from football would be great. Look at how Gary Cook, David Gill, Damien Comolli etc. were brought in by big teams as a priority, instead we have Llambias. Clueless.

He could do something even easier and cheaper and just rename the East Stand the Sir Bobby Robson stand.

David Dein would be good - although I think he turned Ashley down when he first bought us
