Buy British, There will be a winner for every loser. What’s easier, change our eating habits and import food from elsewhere with one of our new trade deals or being one of those European countries that exports that 61% wondering how they are going to make up that lost revenue

So May proposed to **** about kicking the can along for another month. Corbyn decides on a strategy of masterly inaction. The Headbangers decide they can stop May wasting a month by tabling a VONC and then a leadership contest which ..... erm ..... also wastes a month.

What a clusterfuck of a ****fest.

Under WTO rules you .... erm ..... have to follow WTO rules, you can’t do what you want.

Sorry you still think Taking Back Control means something, don’t you? I forgot.

    You mean this David Davis?

the man who failed to understand it was illegal for countries within the EU to strike individual trade deals and then went on to say the order in which we would negotiate with the EU would be the row of the summer before capitulating on the first day? that David Davis?

Germany, Holland, Spain etc will continue to have access to trade deals with over 50 different countries because they're still in the EU. We will not have 1. Yes we can start new ones but a, they take time, a long time and b- we would be a distressed seller at the moment.

Which is similar to implementing things at the drop of a hat. In principle yes, in practise not so much as anything would have to get through a very divided parliament.

(As for the currency we're in the EU and we don't use the Euro, neither does Sweden so it doesn't rely on one currency)

Yes we can lower taxes and regulations to help make us more attractive but who will benefit from this - rich business maybe but certainly not workers or citizens?

And the business we bring in who are they going to sell to? The biggest market in the world is the EU and we're no longer offering access to that.

It's not about scaremongers; it's about exposing charlatans and chancers like Davis and Johnson who when it all goes to **** will never feel the real pain that it would inflict and just shrug their shoulders, smirk and go on to their next jolly jape.

Buy British by all means but we still only produce 61% of the food we eat. to change that would require massive changes in land use and employment. And before March. Beef farmers adage? Three years from conception to plate. This is not something that can be turned around overnight.

Can we become self sufficient - sure with enough time and will and determination. But again take it back to the country do you want to have reduced and less varied food choices for the sake of a blue passport and taking back control? I'm suspecting you'd get a dent in that 52% will of the people.

We have to blame our stupid politicians for wasting so much time on "non negotiations" If they had agreed on out means out we would have been a lot further down the line with nearly self sufficiency.

Here you go straight from the WTO website

    Trade without discrimination
    1. Most-favoured-nation (MFN): treating other people equally Under the WTO agreements, countries cannot normally discriminate between their trading partners. Grant someone a special favour (such as a lower customs duty rate for one of their products) and you have to do the same for all other WTO members.

Because most share one Currency,he means if say Germany get in a mess, then so do they all,50-70% of EU country's are already reliant on hand outs, they can't afford not to trade with the worlds 5th biggest trader. Are Germany and France going to come up with 49 billion extra to pay in our share or come up with a deal, who's going to tell the French yellow vests that petrol is going up by 1 Euro per gallon because they wont do any deals on principle <doh>

It means you have the same tariff with each country, not each commodity <doh><doh><doh> it means we can buy,eg New Zealand lamb without fake high tariffs for the French farmers, bringing down prices.;)
Try reading your own post,it says your statement is bullshit.

Problem is with many on here they don't understand the basic principals of buying and selling ie what's the quality like, what's continuity of supply like, what's the best price.
