I think when he plays no 6 he's under Instructions to not lose the ball at any cost, he just takes this a bit to far. He's basically a part of the back five and there to stop teams breaking on us, and being straight at the defence. I've said before he's ok going forward as long as he is competitive on the middle, he can not turn 180 degrees with the ball at his feet.

It could be one of any number of reasons and we'd have to analyse the individual situation to come to a conclusion. Look - we're never going to agree on this so it's pointless banging on. All I know is that if Klopp wasn't satisfied with the way he plays he wouldn't be picking him unless there was no alternative. That, to me, is a self-evident truth.
Could we improve on Hendo? Absolutely. Is he doing what's asked? I think so. Is he causing a issue with the team? Results suggest not.

He could have played a simple pass foward and put bobby in for shot on goal but chose to pass back to defence and chance gone. I dont believe klopp would tell him to do this, and its a mentality thing. Is it pressure of being captain who knows?but vvd should be in my opinion. He oozes class and calmness, like allison does.
There are two different arguments here. I've said nothing about the captaincy. I agree that it should be Virgil and I think it probably will be in time. However it's a title only - strong-willed players will show their leadership qualities regardless of who has the armband. Today Klopp could have started Shaqiri, Fabinho or Keita instead of Henderson - but he didn't. That tells me that he's happy with what Henderson does, in the set-up that he wants. And - shock, horror - I trust Klopp's opinion more than that of any of us on here.
Klopp obviously wouldn't have been as specific as to say in that exact position he should pass to VVD. The advice would be "keep the ball, play it simple and build from the back whilst protecting the defence and what we have". We all know Hendo can play, he can pass superbly too. But he's not doing it lately and there as to be a reason. Klopp's not dropping him which suggests Jurgen is happy. 2+2=4

Great result, we swarmed them and were defensively outstanding. I don't think Napoli would be much better than upper mid-table in the PL though
