Always good for a finish Balkan... maybe we could get people to post songs that could or should be in the Allams farewell tour ! Anything by Bad Company ... Good loving gone bad maybe.
I went in some supposed fashionable (in a hipster sort of a way) eaterie recently in New York and whilst we were comfortably the oldest people in there, they were playing Laurel and Hardy films on a loop on the wall. Quite good actually
Tbf they will never be loved by any of us and rightly so, but I'm sure there are families out there that will forever be grateful for the fact that some of the donations of money/equipment and one of a kind treatments that Allam snr's donations have funded or made a reality at castle hill etc have kept a family member alive
Apparently Nigel Pearson is a huge fan of Laurel and Hardy - I'm told that he used to show their films sometimes at training sessions. I don't think he held the Allams in the same esteem.
They appeared in Hull twice. 1947 at the New Theatre and at the Palace Theatre on Anlaby Road in 1953. Was an article about their British tours in the Telegraph not so long back. http://d2ybq9unw89ve4.cloudfront.net/films/0/devotion-despair-story-laurel-hardys-final-british-tour
