The best thing about Ryde is that it’s one of only (I think) 3 places in Britain to have a pub called the Redan Inn, named after a skirmish in the Crimean War. Another place is of course the fair city of Chilcompton.
Ha, my parents live on the Island and I've drank there a few times. I wondered about it's theme. Its a timber framed old pub, with a golden open palmed hand as its sign, and had what I thought was Moroccan maybe Turkish stylings inside.
And that's just the solar system. If we're talking about the entire universe, you're looking at 1,402,837,600,000 more years at that speed to cross the universe at its current size (about a hundred times as long as the universe has existed so far). Mind-boggling. Vin
Please remember that pictures containing swear words defeat the swear filter, which some users have switched on to protect their children etc. I’ve hidden it behind a spoiler button this time.
It's quite interesting how this word offends people, I think it's just the sound of it. Personally, it makes me cringe but if said in other languages it's as inoffensive as butterfly. In Serbia there's an expression which I hear daily " u picku materino" which in general conversation is used as something like goddamn it. If you literally translate it it's far worse than the word in question! just doesn't sound that bad.
I've been known to mutter that word down the pub whilst perhaps L'pool are playing. But I watched the Grinch with my kid the other day. She often sits by my side while I'm on here, so that's just the sort of eye candy I'd like her not to ask me about. And anyone using the c-bomb while she's in the vicinity, is going to get schooled by me, whether they like it or not. There's just no need at this inappropriate time.
Ah yea course using it around kids etc is a no from me aswell. Having said that I must call one of our apprentices a dopey **** at least 20 times on average a day, no harm meant, he knows that , we have a laugh, if anything it’s more out of affection .
I don't like that's word either. But my mate loves it. Uses it every other sentence. Each to their own. Tw4ts
I sometimes wonder what lives some people live...I rarely swear, so when I do it means something. What do regular swearers do when something really bad happens?
