That’s the very problem Luv, you need to be under the heel like they are so you can better understand their plight.

Most people that bang on about that are like disingenuous politicians that say “we are helping by putting up the minimum wage by 5p.

    Turkey for us.

The Mrs Mum usually brings a side of beef but she's working this year so hopefully that will be avoided.

Although in fairness, she could tragically overcook it on Christmas Eve and bring the chunk of leather cold the next day I suppose.

We decided on a pheasant to go with the turkey. Duck is too boring and we'd end up with a lot of left over goose.

Off to Costco in a bit. She will go absolutely berserk with the credit card. She's like a crack addict who's been given the keys to the lab when she gets in that place.

Beef has to be rare or cooked for hours inbetween is terrible.

I like the leftovers for a curry so do tend to go big with the turkey and the ham.

    Christmas Eve best day.

Walk on the beach and coffee in the morning then up the local for a pub meal and some ales early afternoon. (was going to say dinner time but can't be arsed arguing it out!)

She's on about going to winter wonderland (which is ****) after that but I'm hoping that doesn't happen, I'm definitely not ****ing driving. She usually cooks the Turkey in the afternoon/evening but we're having a late one this year, due to the working ma in law, so that'll be done first thing Christmas day.

Firebox lit and a bottle of port Christmas Eve night, try to get the kids off to bed at a half decent time.

    This is done for hours.

It's edible but not really how I like it. Good on a butty with piccalilli on boxing day though.

The worst part of Christmas is the curry lunch that my family host. It's bad enough when it's my close family but this is extended family and some hangers on Fortunately my in-laws aren't coming this year so I don't have to also suffer the post mortem of who said what to who and who looked at who in a certain way.

I ****ing loathe big family events. The only one I'll enjoy is my funeral.

I'm with you on the Winter Wonderland nonsense, similar day for us bit of prep for the dinner then off out for a pub meal and a few beers. TV and chill with some nice booze.

I get on with the outlaws but that's it, we don't have a lot of visitors as my family are a bunch of idiots who would pop round and drink a cup of looking like they can't wait to leave as this was just something they had to do. I've distanced myself over the years so now it's just close family.

I get on with my in-laws but the mother-in-law and my wife always find a reason to be offended when they mix with my family. With the wife I can tell her to **** off and grow up but that's not so easy with the mother-in-law. When they get together they over analyse everything that every other person has done during the day and dissect it in minute detail when we get back to our place.

My family are also alright in isolation, I get on with all of them but they are a dysfunctional lot and I don't pander to it. When we all get together it's ****ing difficult for me. There are a lot of very thinly veiled digs and deliberately crafted comments, even from the extended family who have been briefed beforehand. My kid brother looks out for me though.

Will cook some form of turkey chilli this year I think. Actually do they still sell turkey twizzlers? If I can find some of those ****ers will go for that.

Apparently not, that thundercunt Jamie Oliver culled them when trying to stop kids being fat. I hope he dies
