Convoluted way of stating your general opinion. If anything, that concerns me . Is their a reality where Ashley sells us, we buy our best players and don't get relegated?
I'm not here to frighten people with my accurate predictions, but I will say the game will be overshadowed by piss-poor decisions by the match officials.
Fear not oh nervous one! we come bearing gifts. Santa's sack will contain three points and a shed load of goals to enhance your GD. Merry Christmas Ho,Ho,Ho. The last time we played you we stuck three goals past you - should have been four- Sessignon and Cairney created havoc.Times have changed. Those two players are shadows of their former selves and the whole side are going into games as if defeat is inevitable.Going into games with that mindset and the outcome IS inevitable! Even though the season has yet to reach the halfway point we are certainty's for relegation. Come Saturday week you will be facing a side without fight, aggression -and most importantly - desire. We cannot win this game, fill yer boots!
Thought that yesterday but instead witnessed our 7th loss at home,Huddersfield next and not confident.
Tough break for you guys yesterday. Red card was clear but you should have had a pen for the elbow. Not sure if it was a red card, don’t think it was deliberate but it was def a penalty and would have been a foul and a yellow anywhere else on the pitch.
This was the major defect in our second half plan for me, Yedlin as a CB was the craziest decision of the day. Put Manquillo there if he's coming on as he's better aerially, bring on Dummett instead as a CB or go to a back 4 but ffs do not go and put Yedlin there. Genuinely felt sorry for the lad but he does have a habit of giving the ball away in the wrong area's. Also I know I bang on about it week after week but the subs AGAIN! Get them done sooner, especially when you're down a man, was clear for all to see some of the lads we're out on their feet. Leave Rondon up top, at least the ball sticks 50% of the time instead of Joselu where it just doesn't. Perez and Atsu would have been my 2 subs at about 75-80 mins. Maybe save one for injury time to kill some time but get some more defensive minded players on the pitch, Atsu for Kenedy right sub but to late, Perez for Dummett would have been my other shout in injury time as another CB and just go 4-5-0 for the last 5-10mins and get the point. Do agree however that the defending for the goals were awful, 1st goal no communitcation between Lacselles and Yedlin and the 2nd just back off until they are inside the box and leave a man at the back post completely unmarked... Also Mike Dean, so many wrong decisions, no accountability for ref's should be dropped to ref the mackems games for a few weeks as that was the standard he put on show yesterday.
For me it was deliberate. His left elbow ie the one that hit Perez needed much more leverage than his right elbow. Also the timing isn't right between his arms and his jumping and his heading ie the left elbow leads the timing but he wasn't jumping left. A good old fashioned centre half clearance of an attacker is the way I would describe it. Plus doesn't require intent to be sent off. Even if no intent it was clearly dangerous and/or reckless. "SERIOUS FOUL PLAY A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play. Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play."
what people need to understand is that 99% of fouls are accidents, but never the less they are fouls and are punished by the ref I'm sure no one goes out with the intention of giving a penalty away but the guy clearly elbows Perez in the face I called it a foul at the time and still do - the foul in the box should of been awarded as a penalty the only other matter is whether the ref deemed the incident as serious foul play or an accident and has to deal with it accordingly i.e. either a yellow for accident or red for serious foul play the problem we had, was the ref did not see it at all --- so I wonder why this has not been taken up by the FA did anyone else notice how the ref was instructing the lino on the East stand all the time for throw ins even when the ball was less than 10 feet away frrom the lino likewise, the same at Manu where we are denied a clear penalty by the ref not watching the game I welcome NufcNavan's comments
INCIDENT: Newcastle were reduced to 10 men in the 57th minute when DeAndre Yedlin slipped as he tried to play the ball to Jamaal Lascelles. It allowed Jota to get past the defender, who deliberately pulled him back just outside the penalty area. The referee showed him a straight red card. DERMOT'S VERDICT: Correct decision DERMOT SAYS: Mike Dean had a top-drawer performance, I would say, and got all the big decisions correct. It is 100 per cent a red card and VAR would have endorsed his decision. The law says he has to be able to get a shot away, he's got the ball under control, he takes one step forward and if you do that, you can shoot. You don't have to wait for the defender to challenge you. Wilfred Boly caught Ayoze Perez in the face with an elbow, seeing the Newcastle forward go to ground clutching his face in the area. Neither a red card nor penalty was given by the referee. DERMOT'S VERDICT: Correct decision. DERMOT SAYS: I think Mike Dean believes Boly is using his arm for leverage rather than a weapon. If you look at it, he raises his arms, which all players do to get off the ground. I thought the ball had hit him in the face anyhow - which it does eventually - but I don't think he throws his elbow, it's always there. Because of the challenge for the ball, there's no doubt he connects with him, but I think it is just a thing that happens. It is physical contact but I don't think it is something where he has gone to hit him. So if Dermot was sitting with VAR at this match yous would have gotten nowt! SCARY!
Very scary indeed As said above there doesn't have to be intent Mat.Ritchie was brought up for high feet He was no where near the opposition player, but the fact was he had raised his foot high Decision was a foul although there was no contact Unbelievable that
Have a look at the clip from twitter posted above. It was a nailed on penalty and, for me, a nailed on red card.
