THOMAS CROMWELL is interesting in the Lingfield bumper.
He wouldnt normally have the sort of profile I look for but this is an AW affair and he is related to a number of AW winners over 10-12f. If his stamina holds out he could go very well.

See your old girl is out tomorrow ! She will surely love the ground. Wouldn’t be interested in another season with her? Or you got something else lined up ?!?

Tomorrow the trip is very much on the short side. This is a warm up for a crack at the Welsh National.
The same bunch are all still involved but for the foreseeable future I am a punter rather than an owner mate.

Happy Birthday, Lieutenant Henderson. The great man is 68 today. Incidentally, I’d have guessed early to mid-40s myself. Have a fantastic day, old boy. You deserve it as you are an inspiration and the greatest individual ever to train a racehorse or indeed to ever set foot on a racecourse. Join me in a toast, please, ‘Lieutenant Henderson. May God bless him and save him!’

Feel free to add your own celebratory missives below in honour of the legendary figure on this his special day.

A quick review of Saturday’s selected. Apple’s Shakira obviously didn’t run her race but if this was down to the ground, an injury, the fact that she wasn’t totally ready on this her seasonal bow or she just wasn’t tickety-boo, I’ve no idea. I’m sure she remains one to follow and as a little bonus the handicapper may even lower her perch (currently 142) ahead of her next run.

Eyecatcher of the weekend for me has to be the Lieutenant’s Kilcrea Vale in the ‘Grand Sefton’. I’ve spoken about him loads in the past and it was an unbelievably effort from him to go so close when his jumping was poor, he wouldn’t have enjoyed the ground, the old boy stumbled badly after jumping the 3rd last and he was been ridden aggressively miles before the home turn. Put him in your notebook and the race for him has to be the ‘Topham’, the day before, the ’19 Grand National (4th last year). Expect him to be trained to the minute for that day.

Re Jen’s Surprise I’m amazed they are keeping her in training. Surely, after that Listed placing, she is now a very valuable broodmare prospect.

Anybody heard of this Willial Buick chap? Strange name for a jockey. Is it his birthday too?

Been away from the forum for ages.

L'fd 1.30. Had a word for this one, and N.T-D is also publicly very positive about it, as you can see here:

''One at Lingfield today in the 1.30 where Pink Gin contests a 2m 7+f handicap chase with Mark Grant riding. Made a pleasing seasonal debut four weeks back, with a 4th place at Exeter over a similar trip, just 1 1/2 lengths behind the winner. He’s down a pound today to 106 and on heavy ground which will suit, looks to take advantage of a return to form, expected to go very well and can go close.''

Currently 5/1 several places. 9 run. Done e/w.

Another case of over-optimism from N T-D. He does get it right sometimes though.

hi fellas! wish you all a prosperous start to the week..

lingfield,2 30:

JENNYS SURPRISE is a thourouly likeable mare, and she always runs her honest race.a longer trip would probably suit better, but the heavy ground might make up for it..

lingfield,3 00:

not much between DEEBAJ and cigarisi on their last clash, where gary moores inmate was 5th and cigarisi 6th at sandown last time out.but i think,DEEBAJ is the better treated of those two,and should be sharper for that run..

musselburgh,3 15:

although the form of ATTENTION PLEASE has a bit of an uneven look to it,hes not badly treated here, and his last win came at this course,so not impossible,he ll make the most of the loads of weight he gets from the two in form horses..

Wolves 3.30 Mossys Lodge 7/2.

" 6.30 Jack Bear 11/1 e/w.

Have reasons to believe both might be Xmas gambles.

Mossys Lodge goes in at 4s, won a shade cosily at the end, but lucky that the leader off the bend.wandered way off a true line

Edit: sorry second tip was absolutely useless, never in it.
