That's the key, keep on picking up wins when going through a 'dip' if that's what it is. It's a long season so no one can be at their best for 46 games. Fingers crossed we keep it going.
I’ve just selected s few of your comments from this thread fella. Lack of cohesion balance tempo? That’s not an indication of form? tactics and mental approach don’t contribute to form? One thing I do agree with is that earlier in the season we went for the jugular and kept trying to win... now we seem more likely to sit on a lead. Fatigue? Pressure? Eye on the table? Dunno... but don’t think it’s by design.
This time last season Wolves were 6 points better than us but had also been beaten 3 times. So also had a dip in form as you say
Bielsa doesn't rotate the players much but I think he likes them to manage their energy levels in matches by keeping the ball at a lower intensity to avoid fatigue / burnout.
Wolves spent a lot of money and were the stand out team last season. This time there isn't any club way better than any of the others. I know we say it every year, but this time because it all much of a muchness, is our best chance of promotion depending on what the parachute payment clubs do in the transfer window.
It is by design. Forshaw plays completely differently once we are in the lead and I can't believe he would be allowed to do that just off the cuff. Also as Bielsa has often said our performance fluctuations throughout the match and results in good and bad periods which is quite different to referencing overall form as poor. If I had said our form was poor I would admit but I didn't...you misinterpreted my original post by and used that term in one of your responses. If you said it you own it not me...so how dare you say we're in poor form when we've just won 4 consecutive games.
I do think our form is mediocre in terms of performance levels using the start of the season as a benchmark. Happy to own that if it makes you feel better. Now we’ve established that are you going to answer the point or keep up the deflection strategy? I directly quoted you... lack of cohesion, balance, tempo... you referred earlier to sloppy passing. But apparently that’s not describing lack of form? What am I misinterpreting there? And what would constitute attributes of a team’s play that you would associate with a lack of form. You appear to have been making two points deliberately or not.... one that we haven’t being playing well... and two that we seem to have started sitting back on leads. I actually agree with both, except you now appear to be denying point 1!
Don't think it's either TBH I just think teams now realise they can't beat us playing football and have had to change tactics.Stop us playing, deny us space etc.
Sorry not me personally lol! I don't like rugby at the best of times especially when it damages our pitch. I remember us sharing the ground with Hunslet and the damage caused then.
We have got them installed at Elland Road and have been shown on the official site at times. Often see Elland Road lit up and it was explained this was the reason why.
That’s definitely a large contributing factor. We took apart the sides who wanted to attack us earlier in the season and most sides have parked the bus since then. Lack of space to play makes the intricate pass and move stuff difficult unless you have players like Man City. Personally i’d like us to mix it up a bit in games like forest where they just camp in their own half and challenge us to break them down... but its not the bielsa way and we maybe don’t have the playing staff to do it effectively. So we’re clear. I couldn’t be happier with how the season is going, merely commenting on performance fluctuations
Twice you've stated our form as mediocre and I concur. Earlier you accredited me with " our form is poor " which is quite a difference. In pondering why we're winning but not really firing on all cylinders I threw a few possibilities out there for discussion. Personally unless we either get our injured players back or sign a couple of players who are superior to what we have now then I think we'll get found out against the better teams in the division. Having watched every game this season either by attending or SKY or LUTV we are one of the top 8 teams in my opinion. Finishing top 2 would be a serious over achievement and the play offs would be about par for where we are right now as a team. Hence the reasons for my pontifications as we need to improve if we're going to achieve what we're all hoping for. We could just sit back and leave all the worrying to Bielsa but where's the fun in that. Incidentally if anyone wants to watch live games on LUTV as an overseas viewer it is possible from the UK by using a VPN and paying £5 per match.
Ive had a long long day but have enjoyed catching up the verbal sparring. It has been interesting and i am very pleased with our results of late. Like shako i believe we were due some things going our way. Is the tide turning i hope so just hang in there till new year and see what rads has in mind.
Actually at different times I said average mediocre and poor, but the message was pretty clear, are you always this pedantic? Jammy ‘the beef was over cooked the gravy was cold and the Yorkshire’s didn’t rise, I’m worried about the standard of Sunday dinners at the moment’ Mrs jammy ‘yeh it wasn’t a good dinner was it’ Jammy ‘I didnt’ say it wasn’t good. Your words not mine, take ownership of saying dinner wasn’t good’ Mrs jammy ‘yeh whatever love’
Well I just have to report. The beef was magnificent 5 veg yorksires just perfect delightful tasty gravy finished off with Brie and biscuits oh and a few glasses of el plonko on the way. Going for a snooze now may speak later if anyone rattles my cage.
it’s much better being a fan than a player. Under mb’s fat % charter, they’ll have all sat down to a bowl of lettuce, washed down with a glass of warm water.
