is it racist? I saw this article on the BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46498849 Now it appeared they did not want to actually name the newspaper or newspapers being referred too. Referring instead to this quote 'Newspaper headline about...' - I did a simple google search and found this... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...-starlet-Phil-Foden-buys-new-2m-home-mum.html & https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...aller-20-25k-week-buys-market-2-25m-home.html So does Raheem Sterling have a valid point?
Yes he does. The Mail has been a racist rag for years, albeit that was under the regime of the hideous Paul Dacre, and now he’s gone it has somewhat altered its tone.
Are you seeing a racist slant between the 2 DM articles. Don't see it myself. The emphadis on the latter was that he hadn't actually played a game yet but spent a **** load of money on a new property. Do what? Better than snorting it! Sounds like both lads getting good advice. If you go looking for something you'll usually find it one way or another.
Seems the posters before you disagree, not like i would stir the pot As for my view on it, think i'll sit on the fence... please log in to view this image
Even if the links in your OP aren’t great examples, it doesn’t mean the question is a definite yes or no. There’s also been a noticeably different style since Dacre stepped down. I doubt any of its writers are genuine hurl abuse at black people in the street type of people but the subjects the paper chooses to focus on and the style of those articles is clearly designed to appeal to the scared white 40+ demographic who mostly themselves wouldn’t dream of being openly racist to someone but will sympathise with that view privately. Yer man Saxton being the textbook example.
Just had a read through them, looking at the two stories one mentions ethnicity, I can't see it mentioned in the other article. Also one article appears to be more positive than the other article. Look through the comments of one article, they are very defensive of the lad against the story, look at the comments on the opposite article the comments are not having to be defensive and full of praise. At no point have i mentioned what particular story these refer to, i will let you have a guess though, because i'm kind like that I loved one comment in one of the stories, 'click bait' I remain sitting on the fence
The article actually said he hadn't started in PL but didn't mention neither has Foden. To me there was certainly a different tone to the articles considering the stories are so similar though Fodens career is slightly more advanced. Oh and the DM also helpfully explained Nigeria was in Africa
I'm so glad you noticed the ethnicity i was referring too....was it hard to find which story it was in
Yeah i noticed the pics. I thought one might be a British born black guy and the other a lad from a white South African farming family, so glad the DM helped clarify
Always used to buy the Mail as on Thursdays they had a page of print jobs but also love the 5 minute crossword on the back page and the cryptic crossword, rest of it was gash mind.
^^^^^^^^^^^goes to one of those dodgy shops in the morning, ran by those dodgy immigrants, buys a paper, and complains the paper is racist, then complains about his shop being ran by dodgy non white people.
I don't buy papers mate, you are just upset because i pointed out on the other thread how much the Toon army love you btw, you taken your dog out for a shhite yet, it desperately needs one after finding out it's master is a turncoat.
