He clearly can't handle the pace of English football, you get little time to react and his reactions are like a tortoise.
Good post. I noticed that surprise, surprise, Charlie barely contested any aerial ball, so I’m not sure why we persisted with the long ball out. As you say, the high press will happen eventually, but it will take time.
Symbolic, pathetic, woefully poor. Headless chickens for most of the game. We have a good 10 minute spell and the usual happens! RH said he watched videos of previous games.... Vestalump, vestaout, vestaliability. They should play this game at primetime.... "Carry on football'
Yeah I posted that before his brain farts in the last 5-10 mins. I just can’t believe what I’ve seen. So many times people just let Cardiff players run off the back of them without even seeing them. Passing straight to their players. All of it is just the utter, utter, utter basics.
I am not getting all crazy down etc after this game. The truth is I have very much fallen into the zone of not really caring. Have I fallen out of love with Southampton? Nope. But I just can't get too invested in a team that has been mismanaged for so long. I still go to games, but it just isn't the same for me anymore. On field and off field recruitment has been awful for way too long.
We could do a lot worse than find 2 experienced journeyman centre halfs in Jan and ship out the current lot - if anyone will have them.
I'd be with you if the consequences of relegation weren't as severe. We need to find a way to survive, and then we need to burn this squad to the ground and start anew.
Do you not think though , that now Reed has gone , A long term wish of yours I believe , and we have a new manager in , that things may slowly but surely start to look up long term in ALL areas that matter ? I have to be honest , I think that you coming out with the way you feel , given what is happening , seems a little defeatist ?
Things might look a bit different after January, Beef, with some new players and a new set up in the way that the football side is run from the top down to the Academy. Things always feel worse immediately after a poor performance and defeat.
Unfortunately, we have center backs that think they can pass out of defense like City or Chelsea, but they play for us, Hello your not as good as you think you are. You just knew as the game went on what was going to happen, when Cardiff broke on the counter they were quick and swift and direct and had several options, our counter attack is at snails pace with no idea and no support from anyone. This zonal marking is not working, we have two or three players standing around marking no one. I just cannot see how the new manager can make chicken soup out of chicken ****!
