yeah i watched a rennes vs lorient match 2 years ago and he was the only player that i remember from that match, he's nothing really special but he's a tidy player, reminds me a bit of nzogbia but creates more and scores less, he played for france u21 vs england u21 a couple of years ago aswell. better than what we got now but no HBA

scored 10 goals last year as well

he was a real one to watch 4 years ago, football manager wonderkid and everything, right next to pablo piatti

Lets hope hes a good addition then! but its strikers we need, I hope they are scouting a stack of the new strikers, if not we neednt even turn up next season... provided we are still in this division.

Great news! Would be a nice tidy addition to the squad.

But...still seems a bit hollow...all these great attacking midfielders, but no one up front to pass it to? Once we hopefully get a great striker in the summer we can finally relax! Only thing that's missing at the mo. But glad we're lining up an excellent midfield for service!

If we manage to bid, and actually get, someone of Ola Toivonen's ilk someone like this would be a great signing.

Ola Toivonen and a smaller striker, big man little man, i know its an obvious one, but it works.

Sounds good :) guessing he'll be playing on the right with HBA playing on the left?

Apparently he's already signed the pre-contract according to a former scout, Christian Larrson.
Some people are reporting it around Twitter <ok>.

Sorry to rain on your parade lads, all seem to be excited about this one. But the initial story was the daily mail and they never have anything of truth about us.

    Fingers crossed though.

The initial story I read was from Newcastle-online UnitedToon, the Daily Mail reported it a few days after them.
Also the former scout saying he's signed is taken from someone on Twitter who is normally reliable for Newcastle dealings.
    Still fingers crossed though.

ToonSi: That Twitter source isn't CWarr is it? People always post his stuff on here and he's always wrong.

To be fair to him, he was the only one saying Carroll was signing for liverpool and he said 'Money talks'.

Fair enough a lot of stuff he posts is crap but he gets odd one or two lucky guess right.

I'd be rather happy if we signed him. Exciting players are always welcome imo.

Nope, not at all - I hate that ****. If you even question him, he blocks you!
The lad who is reporting it is ToonTastic, he's never commented on pure speculation before, but generally been spot on when talking on some ins/outs in the past & all other things Newcastle.

Strangely if we do sign him the fans of Rennes will be happy as they've already talked about being Marveaux-less.

    Boom-boom

I hear all week (thankfully it's nearly over)!
