Can’t quite decide if our players are painfully out of form or painfully ****. There’s some awful basic errors going on from front to back.

That was, frankly, pretty awful. We're pretty fortunate that Cardiff is also pretty awful, because a halfway competent side would have this one out of sight.
Get the impression that any baby steps we were making in recent weeks have completely disappeared today. It's sounded dire so far, and for once we're getting a scoreline which we're fortunate for rather than unfortunate.
The problem is that the only width has to come from the FB’s with this formation, and the pressing isn’t effective enough yet to cover the defence. The individual errors don’t help either!
Vester being given the run around, as well as Valery. Every long ball we are defending is being cleared to a Cardiff player, even if under no pressure (Vester).

I can see what Ralph is trying to do here. Press is working similar to Leipzig at times, but very early days. Considering they've had 2 training sessions, I think there are some real positives in there. Obviously lots of errors etc, but high winds never lead to lots of quality (though some are pretty poor). Players are fresh into a new system and we can't expect it to work from day one. It's a shame that he has to play Austin as a quick striker is pretty critical to the way RH plays and Austin is most definitely not that!! I can see some clear personnel changes coming as we don't really have the players to play like the manger wants in some areas. I wonder how many we can move on in January?
