I saw the Scotland game where again Miller was only in it twice, once when he scored and once when he created a goal.

He works hard off the ball to try and be available around the box but when things break down he probably don`t get any credit for that.

Miller usually is great for Scotland. Considering he's up there on his own, his flicks and hard work really paid off. Not the greatest goal (keeper should have done better) but shows how hard he works. So pissed off with the ref, such a blatant dive. So annoyed....

not at all, plenty of people give him credit for his work rate...

and by the way blue sheep, berra went down very easily, people seem to forget that one! especially the ridiculously biased commentators on sky!

Miller was definately mom. It's not the ref's fault it's the cheating Czech took a dive. The ref was much better positioned to see that Bera had dived. The Czech dive looked very convincing considering a) the angle the ref had b) his proximity to goal (there seemed little reason to go down.)

It's time for video evidence with retrospective punishments for 'successful' divers. The punishments should be very harsh - 3 - 5 match bans with increasing sentances for repeat offenders. It would need Fifa to roll it out across all of europes top leagues but we could see the back of pretty much all diving within a season or 2 imo.

Back on topic, anyone else watching think we should be playing a 4-3-3/4-5-1 with Miller at the front of it? Malky is obviously very aware of the job Miller does for Scotland on his own up top. I know that leaves Earnie out of the side but it's a long season and I'd still expect us to give him plenty of game time.

Every game seems to shape our season. Win the next and we are right up there lose and we are mid table.

We need Miller to start scoring.

one game doesnt make a season for goodness sake. theres no point panicking that we are mid table if we lose the next game, i only care where we finish at the end of the season to be honest <ok>

Swamp, if you only cared about the end result you wouldn't bother watching them every (other) week! :emoticon-0110-tongu

Of course each game helps to shape our season! how could it not?
Keeping in touch is the name of the game for me, do that and a final push (from players with the right attitude) and who knows.

yes, but the idea that the next game in the season is crucial is not true, to be mid table at the moment is not a disaster. i'd rather start poorly and finish well than start well and finish poorly which is what has happened under DJ.

I have to agree to disagree on this one Swamp, this is a tight league at the best of times, and I can see West Ham doing well and I've got a sneaking feeling that Derby will go well, a bit early to judge Brighton, although they looked good down here...............I can see the situation where you have 7 or 8 teams (us included <ok>) battling for three or four playoff places, so it's vital that even at this early stage of the season, that we pick up points at home.............and it's never too early pick up the winning habit <ok>

If this was a horse race maybe held up at the rear might work but usually held up at the rear means tailed off.

true, but the notion that this is a season defining game is a bit over the top dont you agree?

True, but a good win helps motivate and drive us forward to the next game. On current form, Southampton at home on the 28th is going to be huge.

In the last couple of seasons the International breaks always seemed to find us less competitive after them, we never seemed to come back form them strong and hungry. They always seemed to interupt a good rum of results for us.
Lets hope with the new team ethic things will be different this year.
