It's a kind of tradition i suppose. What an absolute wheeze.

My son lost his wallet today. Made me search all over his room and the car but couldn’t find it so he reported it lost to the polis and cancelled all his cards.

He just found it down the side of his seat in the work van.

Ah, fans of small, ****ty EPL teams.

You can trace their emotions quite easily: Starts off hopeful as their team nears the top of the Championship, turns to triumphalism and feelings of superiority as they take their place in the EPL. Is then followed by bouts of depression as their team, after a decent couple of years in the top league, gets relegated and ends up back in the Championship.

See Watford, for example.

 

How come Newcastle are so ****? I don't mean just now but for decades now (apart from a few years when Keegan was there.) A decently sized city with only one major club should be able to produce a team capable of winning trophies.

Aye, but he wasn't there in the 1980s and 90s and you won **** all of note then either. In fact, wasn't your last major trophy win back in the 1950s or 60s?

 

He's right though. Arguably some of the most loyal, dedicated and vociferous footy fans in the country but their trophy cabinet doesn't reflect it. Especially not if you look at the years of the Premiership.

Not casting any nasturtiums by the way, the only thing in QPR's trophy cabinet is dust and cobwebs.

A crying Newcastle fan is a thing of beauty though, nothing sums up failure like a fat Geordie with no shirt on blubbing onto his mate's shoulders after being relegated yet again.

 

1969 Fairs Cup,they always competed in the cups in those decades losing a lot of finals when the cups meant something then but always a selling club ie Gazza,Waddle,Beardsley etc It wasn't till the 90s when Sir John Hall put money into them to compete in the league,good decade but struggling since.
