    It's as Davy has pointed out in his post.

    Eire felt he was being repeatedly criticized to the point of bullying for his viewpoints.

    At that particular time he was probably the only poster with a more measured and as I said cautionary opinion of how things were going and very much wanted to wait and see before joining the Bielsa Bandwagon.

    I wouldn’t be surprised if we sign someone who is well known to Bielsa or even worked with him before.

    It’s a bit of a devil and the deep blue sea. Don’t sign anyone and fail and 50% will blame the failure to back Bielsa and strengthen.

    Sign a couple and fail and it will be blamed on the fact we ruined the balance of the squad. I guess it’s a case or Orta listening to what Bielsa wants to do and acting on it.

    I've written him a wee note. Not that I think that I'll be able to persuade him to return, mind, but hopefully it'll make him have a wee think about it, and think of people he likes on here instead of me. :)

    Good man WJ.

    Unfortunately during the time he decided to depart there wasn't anyone around to stick up for him and even though I know he's more than capable of taking care of himself I hope he reads this and understands that his views were appreciated even if at the time that wasn't made public.

    Did he need sticking up for? I took it at the time as all opinions, Eire and a couple of others (Wakey I think was one) felt we were not looking that great, others felt otherwise.

    I didn’t realise (and I’m sure others never) that he felt the way he did until he declared he was taking a break. Eire has took breaks from here before, hopefully he’ll be back posting again before long.

    Insightfulness is not something we are all blessed with.

    Let's hope you're correct and he decides to return in due course.

    Just had another wee look at where we were last season after 20 games.

    Headliner is that we're 9 points ahead of last season! :D

    2017/18: P20 W9 D3 L8 F30 A25 GD5 PTS 30
    2018/19:
    P20 W11 D6 L3 F33 A17 GD16 PTS 39

    Other plus points:

    * Won more, drawn more, lost only 3!!
    * Goal difference 320% better!!
    * 10% more goals scored
    * 32% less goals against
    * 1 point off top of table (was 17 last year). OK, Wolves were on 47 last year, Norwich only on 40.
    * And worth repeating - 9 points more!!

    Who'd have thought, eh? Even if it turns to shiit, it's been a ball so far. :)

    Prijavic, Ponce, Diagne, MacLeod, Reghba, Willocks, James, Harris, Maja, Kean, Weah, Llorente, Gomez, Foderingham, Woodman, Bounedjah and Lens?

    That’s 17 “authenticated” rumours in a month, some re-posted many times. Not sure about gobshyte but someone definitely likes the sound of their own voice.

    Don’t think so, I am sure he was well aware he gave me as much verbal as I ever gave him, seemed perfectly happy last time I saw him and we talked about far more important things than footie by PM recently as mates. Think it might have had more to do with the nett result of your reshaped board than anything I said.

    Eire will be back,

    Eire is one of those posters who wrote his posts with intelligence and sensibility, while throwing in the banter and humour from time to time.

    He didn't use big words that some try to do to try and big note themselves, he posted in a language everyone understood. He wasn't abusive or attacked others, he posted his views as he saw'em, just like most of us on here do while wading through the small quagmire of those who just feel the need to attack, for the sake of attacking.

    Eire is an important member of this forum, not mainly because of what he says, but how he says it.

    I for one respect his views and opinions, whether I agreed with them or not.

    Summing up Eire in one sentence,

    He is part of the book cover that helps bind this forum together....................He'll be back.

    Morning Mike. If I see reports of people from Leeds Utd watching certain matches in Greece, Turkey and Portugal or anywhere else I will report it because thats a better indication of confirming rumors than just cut and pasting from the Sun. How do we know that players watched and mentioned are good enough and have not been discarded from their thoughts. Seems you can get attacked on here for posting relevant stuff now, but hey ho. No wonder the number of posters has dropped off

    Just some strong personalities mate, don’t take it personal, I enjoy reading everyone’s posts, some I agree with others I don’t but usually always thought provoking, well nearly always, can’t say the remainers in the political thread stimulate my brain cells much ;)
