Problem with that Tel is Mong was used to refer to people with Downs syndrome and most people used it in reference to their mental impairment not their physical. Personally don't like it but after 40 years of having a clear physical disability i'm fairly used to it and since this is just a football forum on the internet so i normally just ignore it particularly as i've realised over the years that most people no longer recognise its derivation. I just find it interesting that insulting someone by using terms related to disability seems quite acceptable when if it was race etc it wouldn't be
I think like everything else, it's the way its expressed. I've got no problems saying to my black mates 'alright nigga' and neither do they. I totally get your point, though. I'm absolutely nuts due to my mental health condition and there's so much ignorance around that, I see it daily. I've learned to accept and ignore it, as I know people don't realise what they're saying.
yep i totally get that. I for example accept words from old people that if used by younger folk would irritate me because that is the word they used. It is often the context around the word that makes the difference to me.

Totally agree mate, Tel is one in a million and away from these boards too I believe.. There will always be Edgy, lonely people though that through their sheer ignorance of life will wind the crap up out of people, these are the people I'd love to stand opposite to spouting their ignorant bile to look edgy..
