Both sides lied on the Brexit debate. Same as both sides lie at every General Election.

Isn't the point of democracy that it changes due to the will of the people?

If it isn't then can we just behead everyone in this useless government and put whoever has the pointiest sword in charge like the good old days.

First thing I’d do if I had the keys, I’d rip all the seats out and have standing only the atmosphere is always much better.

Then boot Jeremy Corbyn into a crippled heap.

I don't actually have a problem with that.

The result of a democratic vote must stand, anything else is just a desperate attempt by cry babies who didn't get what they wanted.

Elections are a different issue though really. A referendum is a one issue vote and either £350m is going to the NHS or it is not. We can make simple straightforward trade deals or we cannot. We can have an easy divorce from the EU or we cannot.

Armageddon is either going to happen the day after we vote for Brexit, or it isn't.

Both sides talked ****e, but I think the vast majority of people knew that.

... but it would only get overturned if a majority of the country now voted differently? ... and let's be completely honest, the original vote was heavily influenced by incredibly cynical and calculating deceptive propaganda (and that's me being magnanimous <laugh>)... this little beauty has led to Boris being sued by private prosecution in the New Year ...

...in fairness mate, a considerable number took that tour bus claim to be fact ... and, understandably, cast their vote accordingly ...

Again, that works both ways. I know people who wanted to vote for Brexit but were scared into a remain vote, because they thought that the countries economy would collapse straight after due to project fear.

But if there is a 2nd referendum which remain wins in a landslide, will the Brexiteers still want democracy? It's a few years on from the referendum, people can see the effect it will have on them, many will not be so willing to make the same protest vote they made last time. And how many others have realised that Farage and Johnson were selling magic beans and most of what they said were lies? Johnson didn't even want to win, he wanted to be a magnanimous loser, so he could be seen by the voters to be a bull-dog spirited patriot who fought the good fight in the hope that it would help his ambition to be PM.
AFAIC whatever happens we're a bit ****ed, I can't see a GE helping the situation, each major political party is are split down the middle so we'll be stuck in the same situation we are now, regardless who wins, so another referendum is the only way, I don't think we can move on without it tbh and, whichever way it goes, people will be pissed off, but at least this time they will now more about what they are actually voting for.
