I'm not sure about the timing of all this...........Although am not surprised......in Truth I don't think Sparky will have been that surprised either. So who is going to take on the hot seat then........??? Will they actually give him a chance???????????? Who ever comes in is going to need their best experience to motivate a team so down. Do they also realise that some of the players will have helped to get 3 manager sacked and two turn their back on us..........Well nobody can argue that there isn't/wasn't something drastically wrong at the club.........Ok who's next..........?
If we were to bring in Hasenhuttl and Mitchell, I might be forced to say nice things about our club's decision-makers. That will be weird.
Surprised Martin O'neill has not been given a mention. Knows the league and did a great job with Villa. Also, we know he can the most out of Long.
Well, Well, the club appoint a female match day mascot and the next thing all the male managers get the sack. Don't be surprised to see a women come in as Director of Football and First Team manager. It has happened in the media and in commerce. If I was twenty years old I would be worried. Give it ten years and you will all have had your balls cut off.
We don't have a great squad, is the bottom line. There's enough talent there though, to get us out of trouble. It just needs someone to get a tune out of them. As for the defence, which is where our problems have been this season, it ought to be possible to get a significant improvement with the players we've got, so long as they all know their jobs. We need leaders on the pitch as well as off it.
Delighted when he kept us up. Inwardly groaned when he got a three year contract. That said, I thought he did well to last as long as he did. The football has definitely been better to watch but mistakes at the back have cost him. I just hope we don't go from frying pan to fire with an appointment like Flores (or backwards with the likes of Fat Sam!) My other worry is that having got the best out of Redmond, I don't want to see him slip back. Then again, maybe the new manager can get the best out of Hoedt and Vestergaard and our other defenders.
He's a decent defender. He's proved that. But the defence as a whole never seemed to understand what was expected of them. That, in my book, makes it a coaching issue.
