I love the optimism of having Luis Enrique in the betting stakes. Makes me sad to see Nagelsmann there too - we should have gone all out for someone like him when we turfed Puel out.
As we have been saying, Hughes wasn’t the problem, just a symptom of the underlying disease. Whoever is appointed, unless they are backed in the January window with a quality CB we will be back to square one at the end of the season. Having said that, please Ralph, appoint someone who knows how to organise a defence!
The man, the myth, the legend. Was about to ask if we’d ever had a keeper as first team coach, but then of course we have, as Kelvin will know only too well...
The players have to take a huge part in getting managers sacked down here. That’s now 3 they have underperformed for. It’s their responsibility to give 100% and they haven’t. Whether a manager is a nice person or not they have to give their all. Yes the club play a huge part in it but my opinion is the players are at fault as well as Les Reed and Kreuger. Who now comes in?
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...sack-mark-hughes-winning-five-games-27-reign/ "...but first, they feel that they should probably nail down exactly what their long-term vision and philosophy might be." Hurry, Ralph, get those five pledges finalized!
Been lined up for sometime then, I would imagine it’s someone whom is not with a club at the moment maybe?
It is a new dawn. Starting ith a 5-0 win at Wembley, we'll watch in awe as The New Saints (as they are to be called from today) rip teams apart, winning the FA Cup and securing a top 4 place. Hampshire pigs will spared bacon duties to perform a fly past for the final home game. Alternative scenarios are available.
Apparently, Hughes is the first manager ever to be sacked twice by Premier League sides in the same calendar year. Italian clubs scoff that they could have fired the same manager three or four times in that spell.
