I felt ambivalent about Puel. The position and final were fine so I should have been thinking he deserved another season. In truth, most of the football I saw under him was dull as ditchwater, particularly second half of the season. As least under Mark, we are quite entertaining- although not always with much reward and with a lack of defensive mettle. I so want him to get a couple of wins- or be replaced with someone luckier. Just so long as it’s entertaining.
Puel finished 17 points worse off than the previous season, and importantly just five points above 17th, the final non-relegation position. The football was very dull too. The sacking can be justified. The key issue was not having a suitable manager lined up.
Yep, my turn to be a bit stupid SF86 and I can't blame it on feeling ill... Maybe I should've said major final at Wembley!
Turned out my sources were right just that my guesswork was wrong. Surprised at the indiscretion of this getting out....
