Leeeon, in fairness ITIWRAN has a point. You created a good article with plenty of discussion points. Was there really a need to put in the degrading word about Bellamy. It was obviously intended as a wind up to Cardiff (and possibly Liverpool fans if they can be bothered to read it). I chose to ignore it as that is the best way to treat WUMs and concentrate on the football debate but now ITI has made his point I have to support him. For the sake of harmony would it hurt too much to take out that one word? We can get back to slagging off eachother on other direct threads but this one was about England v. Wales so why not stick to that?
I'm no great fan of Bellamy as a person. But I respect his talent as a footballer & his contribution as a player for our country. In all fairness, he was quite complimentary at the back end of last season of the way the Swans play & I think he was also hoping we would get promoted. He also expressed an opinion that Wales needs to start producing more 'Joe Allen' type players for the future of our national team. So he obviously cares & is not so bad after all in my eyes.... There's no need for the attrition chaps....
Swamp I thought the same about Ledley and yet one paper gave him 8/10. He looks like he has bulked up a bit so is a stronger player but now appears to have lost whatever pace he had. In that first 20 minutes when they attacked consistently down our left, Swansea's Taylor did well but Ledley didn't know if he was on his ar$e or his elbow. It took Bellamy to pull back a little and Ledley to go more central for Wales to get some control - thankfully!!!!
You two are the only ones who have objected to that word, and I can't be bothered repeating myself over and over that it is not a wind-up. As has just been mentioned, this is turning in to a Swansea v Cardiff thread again, and they are incredibly boring to me. Everyone but you two is talking about the game, (apart from me, because I am having to defend the use of a word), so why not just ignore anything you might perceive as a wind-up, and involve yourself in the conversation.
Leon! Obviously it's not just me now.Remove the word, show a Welsh legend some respect and this is over with.
No mention of Ash "own goal" Williams then??? Let's face it, the Midlander does have a habit of sticking one in his own net from time to time and isn't even Welsh in truth. Hey ho, typical Jack, can't help but degrade one of his nations best players.... just stick to waving Union Jacks then Leona Apologies to the decent Jacks but arseholes like this wind me up.... As for scores, yep 3-1 England is about right, sad but realistic.
I think Ledley needs to have a big game against England, because without Vaughan, he is the most experienced player in the middle of the park. He shows some great touches at times, and if he plays with confidence, could certainly compete technically with Parker and Barry. Morison is going to be in for a tough game against Cahill and Terry, and probably won't get much ball, but if he can pop up in the right areas like he did against Montenegro, and Bale and Ramsey et al can produce a bit of magic, they might find him for his second goal for his country. Irrespective of the conversation I am having with some Cardiff fans on this thread, I am gutted Bellamy isn't playing, as he is someone who really could hurt the inexperienced Smalling. Like BlueFromBridgend said, I think we may have a different formation than the one I predicted, and if that happens, it will be down to not having one of our best players, and therefore having to reshuffle to get a good shape
8/10????? i have yet to see him put in an 8/10 performance for wales to be honest. i really struggle to see what he adds to the team to be honest, his passing is ok, he doesnt really tackle that much and he doesnt break forwards so i dont really know why he's in the team ahead of people like collison. and Leeeon, it was an obvious WUM, dont deny it. if i was making a thread to be posted on the england forum, do you think i'd say something like gerrard is out, the scouse tw*t should be back by the end of september though, or 'the mindless thug rooney was effective against bulgaria'.
To post more on topic this time. Can't see England not taking this one at a canter. With the confidence that a lot of their players have gained from their club outings, they'll start like a train! Our players are still adapting to a new style of playing and although we'll try to stick to it, playing a new style against a confident, in form, world class side might be a struggle. I expect England to get 3 or 4 goals in the first half, take the foot off the gas, and we may sneak the second half 1-0. My prediction - England 3-1 Wales Not what I want to say, but it seems like a realistic prediction. If we'd had Bellamy in the side, I think we'd pose a bit more of a threat as we'd have attacking flair down both wings. But with only Bale, I can see our left midfield being crowded out by England and I just can't see the ability in the rest of our midfield to create enough chances. What has happened to Ledley? He seems to take it way too easy these days - get Crofts in for Vaughn and Allen in for Ledley. Ramsey and Allen can sit deeper and pull some strings with Crofts supporting Morison up top. I can't help but feel that Ledley moving to the SPL has hindered his development big time! He's got to get a move back into the BPL or NPC as soon as possible...
Hah. I can't believe how much fuss this has caused. Bellamy - good footballer... but a gobshite! As Kidderz said, like Barton unfortunately, you reap what you sow. I'd cheer him on til I was blue in the face, but doesn't mean I like how the guy has conducted his business over his career. As for the game, I really can't predict this to be honest. I don't see us winning, and all I hope for is another performane where we build team understanding and the style of play. If they do this, brilliant... and if we get a result..."estupendo!"
Leon! Your back tracking there with comments of praise for Craig are commendable.I know it's difficult to save face now that other jacks are egging you on but just remove the word.
I will continue to deny it because it wasn't. 'Scouse twat' and 'mindless thug' are just offensive, and are very different descriptions to the one I gave of Bellamy. He is 'talismanic' (possessing magic) and is a gobshite (he talks a lot of ****e). That is a reasonable evaluation considering he displays both those attributes on the pitch. If you want to get wound up by a word, feel free, but it is not my intention to start yet another 'handbags at dawn' thread
I didn't backtrack at all. He is one of our best players, and I have never said any different, but he is still a gobshite. They are two different arguments.
Double standards here,ITIWRAN. I don't ever remember reading a post from you wherein you requested one of your fellow Cardiff posters to remove insulting and offensive words, and there have been an inordinate number of those instances. As for Bellamy,he is a good player,no doubt about it,but he has let himself down on too many occasions. I wouldn't want him in my team, that's for sure. I cannot see Wales getting anything other than a defeat against England tomorrow.
Well 'OUR' country had a long awaited great performance & result back last Friday. We are now about to take on our oldest arch enemy, where we're really going to be so up against it & all we can do is bicker amongst each other. It's pathetic chaps!! For once, we should all stand together. Sadly, it is obviously still not changed from the 'dark-dark day's' at the Vetch/Ninian in the 70's & 80's, with Swans & Bluebirds fans' baiting each other!!! As I said, pathetic.....
VETCH! With all due respect this is between myself and Leon. However out of courtesy I will explain that, what happens in Cardiff/Swansea threads has no bearing on this thread.Leon decided to post a WALES thread and use it to have a pop at a tremendous Welsh servant.
At last, someone with a sense of humour! I have got no problem with being criticised. If you think it's gobshite, that's fine.
