We were only winning because we were awarded a penalty that wasn’t a penalty. They’ve been far better than us for most of this game. You can’t deny that a crowd getting behind the team makes a huge difference?!
and THAT is why I HATE the NLD... bollocks to football... am off out to find cute and fluffy things to kick
I don’t know how he could have got out of it. He literally passed the ball, it was just unfortunate that the arsenal leg was in the way of where he followed through.
The better team won. These fine margins are when failing to sign midfielders in the summer come back to bite us in the arse.
4-2 FT. Poor team selection, poor substitutions and a poor performance. ****ing ****s and **** Mike Dean.
Oh come on. He raised his studs and moved his leg towards the players ankle as he followed through. Don’t make excuses for the inexcusable.
Utter shambles. ****ing livid with the two CBs. Poch too, for being so ****ing stupid by not taking at least one off.
In every NLD I can remember, I look at the team selection and always feel uncomfortable, as I feel we look vulnerable for one reason or another. Today it was Foyth starting that gave me that feeling. We got it wrong, again. But what annoys me is that we never do anything about it. He was struggling, but we were 2-1 up at half time. So why not bring on Toby? Why the hell did Poch wait until we were 4-2 down and 78 mins in before he made a change? By then it was too late.
It's harsh on our defence when our midfield and attack created very little indeed. Arsenal were like a team possessed and wanted this more. I look forward to having the final word in the new stadium.
you say it’s inexcusable, but how does he (in a split second) prevent that happening? The contact looked painful, but I don’t think it looked deliberate.
Well, that went well....... What a feckin’ shambles and we got what we deserved - a sound thrashing. Anyone got a cricket scorecard? Cos if we play like that at the Nou Camp, we’ll bloody need one
I'm Sorry to say that this was too predictable. Foyth's not ready for a game like that. I'm not going to blame the kid. He's not ready but he's being thrown in at the deep end. Substitutes too late again. Why wait until we're behind.....again? Oh well, onwards and upwards.
Just seen their two 'legitimate goals' on screen and I have to say had Alderweireld been on the pitch, they don't score them.
The defence was collectively appalling and Verts had his sulky face on from minute 1, but he played the ball and no way could he have known the post-ball contact. But having said that, if Dean was actually applying the law properly it should have been a straight red in that case. But in truth the incident just about summed up the afternoon......
At least we didn't go chavsi or manure at 2:1 up and try to park the bus, I rather lose playing football. Did verts get straight red or second yellow?
