I know we have enrique now, who looks great, but I was looking forward to watching Fabio play atleast a few games at the start of the season. Is he injured already? Anyone know?

Yeah hes injured, shock horror, picked up an injury in training before first game of season ,so Kenny had to throw Enrique straight in v Sunderland.

Its a shame too cos him and Downing were EXCELLENT as a pairing,in the pre season game v Valencia, Aurelio seemed to read Downings runs. Not sure how far away he is from fitness ,but the sooner the better ,because he is pure quality when fit, which unfortunately isnt very often

Unfortunately we never get to see his class for more than three games on the trot. <whistle>

He's currently on his own training regime, away from everyone else. He's alone, in a quiet room, wrapped in Sponges.

Honestly, it's not even funny any more.

I don't know, this is most likely his last season here, He's probably on a Calcium only diet, dairylea and milk. They've even tried rubbing his bones with Sensodyne Repair & Protect.

He's good cover for Enrique and may be a bit less injury prone now that he has to play less games. I hope.

i just cannot understand why on earth he was given a contract by hodgson... like come on you bought konbloodychesky you fruitloop... why was he given at 30 more than 1 year deal? why?

anyway... the soonet aurelio#s injury prone legs are forgotten baout the better. enrique, robinson and the just as injury prone jhnson can play left full well enough.

It's a real shame because he is technically a fantastic left back. But he's become a liability of the past year but thankfully we now have Enrique who will take over as the primary left back.

Perhaps playing less games will help Fabio prolong his career?

I don't know, he is that injury prone that it can take only 6 minutes of football for him to get injured.

Rumour has it Fabios last substitution was that he said he felt 'very abnormal'. Physio commented that he was 'totally injury free'. This was the abnormality.

Didn't he injure himself setting up a camera whilst trying to make a YouTube video to prove his fitness to the coaching staff?

I'm not trying to be smart here but he hardly plays any anyway, how could he play any fewer?
I'm not having a go, I really like him and wish we'd seen more of him, but his injury problems are just too much.

Good point. I felt perhaps we should have got rid of Aurelio instead of Insua in the summer.

Is Fabio still our 1st choice left back. On all the games he played, I thought he was technically excellent. Then again, theres always the risk he will get sent off, and Enrique is a very good player.

Even fully fit I doubt he'd get a game ahead of Enrique, except maybe in the cups.
