Hi everyone, been away from the forum a bit but saw some chatter about my post on this thread (unexpectedly!)... Thought I would clarify a few things: - This wasn't any insider knowledge, was just me quickly sharing the article from The Times while sitting in traffic in London - As such, thread title is not the best thought out but it seemed pretty assertively written from The Times and I was attempting to share quickly - I have heard nothing about Sousa from anyone (prior to the article or since the article) - I actually have little by the way of insider knowledge at Saints now, as those who I knew and trusted have largely moved on or I'm not in as regular contact with them as I used to be Apologies if anyone felt duped or expected it to be bang on based on track records. Absolutely not my intention. And sorry for not checking in and quelling it sooner! COYR
That’s so tough Billy. I agree with lots of your views but I really am a mile away from you on this. I think we were above average to good. The position we finished and a cup final backs that up. There were times when it wasn’t very exciting, but please don’t make the mistake of confusing ability level with excitement level. We were a good team. Liverpool battered teams that season; they didn’t score once against us and we beat them two out of four times. Just one team but a pretty good example of how good we were. It was absolutely scandalous that he wasn’t given a second season.
You don’t need to apologise for anything DTLW. You share what you see or hear. The receivers make their own minds up.
Which Rocketswanie did and got ridiculed. I like people sharing, but the attitude and support of our fan base eaves a lot to be desired at times.
Think you have to prove yourself to be correct at least once to have that information treated with respect.

Sure the league position was good as was the final, but they both flattered our play which was the majority of times dull and boring. Like I say, I thought he would be better second season, but the boring play has taken ages to get out of doing. I think that was MP2s undoing. His reign could have gone either way as I thought we had some good games under him, then it all spiralled out of control. Funnily enough I think we are starting to turn a corner as lately we have been a better team through midfield and attack, and who knows where that will take us.
If you keep posting things which never turn out to be true, then I don’t know how you expect to be treated? Perhaps I don’t recall how badly Rocket was treated, but I thought it was mainly “banter” and gave us something to talk about. He was the precursor to NewsNow.
Mate I don't think anyone is upset by it..........We needed some positive thoughts for a change to say the least.........as we were all in the doldrums. It at least gave us something positive to speak about............
Have no problem with people posting rumours...let's face it we haven't got much to talk about. However....should be clear it is a rumour and not sound like a done deal.
