Feels strange to drive until you get used to it. Steering feels a bit jiggly and vague.

All the weight is at the back and try as they might Porsche couldn’t disguise that.

Lose it and the tail wags the dog. They’ve been known to catch F1 drivers out.

No true petrolhead wants a well behaved car anyway.

True to a point, but I’d rather not own one that seemed intent on finding a ditch tbh. If they’re predictable I can cope but when they make your palms sweaty fearing the thing is a widow maker I draw the line.

    Get your point.

Just remember, if you’re gonna drive it, there’s no such thing as a small skid in a 911 Turbo. Once they go, they go all the way, and it happens in a split second.

If I had unlimited funds I’d make it my mission to find a car like an Audi Quattro or Delta S4 that would kill me at any given moment.

Imagine going to work in a Quattro Pike’s Peak <laugh>

That’s a Delta HF Integrale. Stradale S4 looked completely different. That thing has back seats where the Stradale engine should be for starters.

    Can't see that.

It was a choice between the two for me and I went for the 5 series, I find it very hard to believe the Jag is any better.

I still like the XF and would consider the estate version but Beamer all the way for me.

I think in terms of a big car it’s better to drive. Build quality isn’t as good. On the jag forum I’m on lots of folks switch from a 5 to an xf and prefer. It’s just too big for me. I’ve driven the same as what you have and think the xf handles and performs better. Though mine is a v6 and the 5 I drove was a 520.

Mine's great in sport mode. Bit sluggish in eco pro but I don't use that.

Was a close call between the two but if the Jag is better it's some car.

It’s difficult for me to make a fair comparison as I haven’t driven the 2ltr jag. All I know is when I drove the 520 I didn’t think it handled as well as my jag. They’re big cars which is I’ve now realised what I don’t want or need.

I love big cars, I feel a bit stupid in a small car. I had a Ford focus and that's about as small as I can go.

I would deffo have the 525 next time but I couldn't find one in the touring. I tested one in the saloon and that had plenty of poke.

Those BMW 3 and 5 series cars are so well poised. From day one they built those cars on a sporty platform with really good quality chassis, suspension and powertrain. Classic BMW rear wheel drive added into the mix and you've got a really agile car.

I loved my old 320d Touring. I had it remapped up to around 220bhp. It was like **** off a shovel.
