Hands up who was confident of getting 3 points when 2-0? I certainly wasn’t. We’ve shown time after time we can’t hold a lead, regardless if the opposition is Man Utd or Brighton. However, I expected us to lose the second half and we didn’t. I expected us to pick up 0 points and we picked up 1. Small mercies which ultimately mean squat if we can’t win our more ‘winable’ games. Good point before the game. Bad point from being 2 up.

Surely you remember Fraser Forster, hero of the Champions League and rumoured member of Southampton Football Club.

I hate to say this but Redmond's final ball is one of our biggest problems this season as it was previously. We rely so heavily on him and his build up is dangerous and effective but it so often ends up going nowhere. We can't win games if we can't score and we won't score if 85% of our play is reliant on Redmond to do something dangerous after a good run. He just becomes a liability despite all the good stuff he does.

    Agree totally with the rest.

What an absolute load of ****. I can’t believe you just said that!

We played well, we lost a two goal lead but played well enough to go two goals up, against a team that qualified for the knock out stages of the Champions League.

We need to have a player whose job is to shadow Redmond; he makes all the forward progress, then lays it off to them for the final ball. Worked with Obafemi on Armstrong's goal.

    This managing thing is easy.

He's not much for being seen these days, but he's still on the wage bill.

Ryan Christie has replaced Armstrong in no uncertain terms, we also have Ntcham, Rogic and Mcgregor, top class centre mids, and Europes most prolific attacker since October, James Forrest, not sure you could afford them though. You definitely cant afford Tierney or Edouard, maybe Boyata.

When you are in a relegation fight and you throw a two goal lead against a poor Utd team with one attempt at us in the second half! Yes l think l can write that and have pretty much justified it.

Utd were **** tonight, who gives a **** about the fact they were in the Champions League.

A point against Utd isn't a bad result in a vacuum, but we're past the moral victories stage. With 9 points in 14, we cannot draw our way to safety; we're going to need actual wins, and this was a situation where we would have been heavily favoured at 2-0 to secure one.

Vesti was a 4 at best. Maya a 5 and Redmond a 7, his final delivery was poor

Telling comment from my wife when I told her the score was 2_2 at the end.' Don't Southampton always let a goal in, in the final minute'. Not today! Expected to lose 2-3 even though we were 2 up. A lot of positives from the game. Valary and Obafemi played well, Armstrong has become a must start, Mario is back, we have stopped going backwards, Cedric scored another goal of the season, more character from everyone, Pierre is a captain in waiting.

The reality is that we have to be winning these games - home to an out of sorts top 6 team - or we are relegated. At least we are trying but we lack so much quality at the back i dont know if a 3 goal lead would hold up.
