Two players who have been great servants to the Club in our Premiership years. Narsingh is also on his way https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46390756
Both have been excellent servants to our club. Dyer arriving while the club was on the rise. Who can forget the first goal against the FA Cup holders, it was a joy. Work on the Monday after was delightful. Oh I’m sure @Wooperts_duck might have liked that one.
Love the two of them but it's time now for them to go for the sake of their careers. I like playing wingers myself but with the countless shots off target then we are doing great getting forward anyway....
It really signals the end of an era. If it wasn't already well and truly over. Best wishes to them both and thanks for the memories
Talking of wingers, the great ' Flicka ' Williams has died, aged 81. He was from a bygone era, and as tricky as they came. RIP.
The team needs to be shaken up - use Dyer, even Routledge. They won’t allow Potts to pick Narsingh allegedly, so he’s a no no
I'm bored of all the **** I hear with the club. We've sold all our best players. We're Sunderland mkII. The American 'experiment' has been a total disaster.
Perhaps the Premier League ' experiment ' was just too much for the Club to deal with on a long term basis. Seven years of gorging all that free money, and employing mercenaries on huge salaries, etc., has clearly taken it's toll. Swansea punched above it's weight, particularly during Laudrup's involvement, and we should be grateful for at least those memories. The Club were much admired then, not so now, as they struggle for a new identity. The Club seems to be drifting aimlessly, and soon the latest crop of young players will depart for pastures new, and the cycle will continue. I'm not sure the Americans can be blamed for Swansea City not being a big Club . It never has been, and likely never will be. To expect them to pump in millions and millions of pounds into what is a bottomless pit, is totally unrealistic. It's just not going to happen.
Hi Vetch - I don’t think anybody on here blames the Yanks because we are not a ‘Big Club’. It’s more to do with the promise to take us to the next level..... We wrongly assumed that statement meant upward progression not relegation!
Those so called big players got us relegated.....What we have achieved this season is nothing short of a miracle....There is more passion in potts and his youngsters than was ever in last seasons bunch of losers.......If Potts can do his magic in January window we will be even a better side that have been in the Top half of the table all season...What have we got to moan about in our first season ??....Nothing whatsoever....
The so called ‘big players’ were sold - Sigurdsson and Llorente - replaced by cheaper and less effective alternatives. Andre Ayew and an unfit Bony
There are some on here who blame the Americans for everything that has gone wrong in their lives, not to mention the awful weather, which does tend to arrive from the USA, so perhaps they have a legitimate case there. Such is the nature of the football fan. They also tend to hear what they want to hear, especially so called " promises ". I guarantee that those complaining about promises have broken more of them in their lives than I've had hot dinners. They are basically the same people who couldn't get rid of Laudrup quick enough, demanding Monk in his place, then turned on Monk at the earliest opportunity, etc., etc., etc., with the same pattern of behaviour for subsequent Managerial incumbents. So, the Club is where it is, with not too much to look forward to.
I remember in the 1980s when The Sun blamed Everest Double Glazing for all manner of things. One headline, I seem to recall, was about a guy who claimed that Everest Double Glazing has ruined his sex life.... The campaign was all down allegedly to (as I was told by the Chairman of Everest at the time) an over-keen salesman refused to refund the deposit taken from the wife of The Sun’s Editor at the time: there was a cooling-off period, and she changed her mind a day or so too late.....
Well, you liked my original post so you must have agreed - so take a bow my friend! It’s now or Never
