Cantona was very good but not in the same class as Cruyff, Pele, Puskas, Maradonna, Zidane, Best, Dalglish et al.
Favourite would be John Barnes up until may 1987 when i decided he no longer existed. Best would be Diego Maradaona
your bestest player you ever did see ever ever keysies for all diseases triple stamp no quitsies no erases touch blue to make it true
Without doubt one of the most extravagently talented individuals these islands have ever produced. Tragicaly ignored by a succesion of England managers including Glen Hoddle, the one Englishman who ran him close in terms of natural ability. He was a lazy sod, that can't be denied. but if anyone doubts Matty's god given talent, buy the DVD "Simply the Best", and think again. The word "genius is used too lightly these days, but that's what he was, no doubt.
Rob Naylor - LMA 2000. He scored 87 goals in 43 games for me when West Ham did the Septuple, strangely no one would offer me more than £5m for him.
He was more entertaining than all of them apart from maybe Maradonna, Zidane, Best. Also how you can you put Dalglish in the same sentence as those greats. Its laughable. Dalglish was worse than Keegan. Maybe on a level par with Hoddle. Maybe
He certainly was not more entertaining than Cruyff. Cantona was good as I said but he didn't come anywhere close to Dalglish when he was at Liverpool. They ruled Europe with Dalglish at the front. What did Cantona win with Man U in Europe? **** all I think you'll find. There's a lot of guff written about Cantona.
