I just have a feeling it will be Button, he is an outsider but he has potential.. I can see it happening tbh. (No crystal ball )
Yep Karthikeyan has been badly screwd over by the blatant favouritism of whoever his teammate is and the FIA putting a behind the scenes cap of 5,007 rpm on thier engines. If it wasn't for that the championship would still be open
Yes, but being the first loser is better than being the 4th one. Also its the only battle we're going to get so we'll have to make do.
My view is that it would take something very special for Alonso to finish second. The Ferrari is the slowest of the three big teams at the moment and has stopped development. He deserves praise if doesn't end up 5th. From Hamilton, Button and Webber it is much harder to chose. I went for Webber, because of the points advantage he has (18 more than Button, 21 to Hamilton) and because i dont buy the idea that the red bull has stopped being quicker and i expect them to continue to beat McLaren more often than not.
Alonso's consistency could well pay off, despite no further developments on this year's car, so for me it's either him or Webber.
To me 2nd place will be word champion, if things carry on the way they are with Vettel's jet fighter of an F1 car. And I think it'll be Mark, he deserves to have some success after all these years. As far as I know he scored Minardi's first ever point. He then had a spell at Jaguar where he didn't get very far, and then the 1st Red Bull team who struggled a lot. He's more than capable of winning the world championship, and he's one of the nicest guys on the grid. Next year will be the best year to go by on who is the quickest of the top 5 drivers. I believe there are no major rule changes next year? only the off throttle blown diffuser will change?
After 27 votes Webber leads the way with Button 2nd and Hamilton n Alonso joint 3rd, but its pretty close
I have to disagree. He has had to same rocket car as Vettel and the fact there is even a fight for second shows he is not doing good enough.
Mark's an honest guy and he is quick, but I think give him a chance just wait until next year and see whether the EBD helps him claw back the gap between him and Vettel, I think he could actually beat Seb next year.
Backing Lewis as I can see him finding form when he finally accepts he won't lose the championship... or he won't and crash out in half the race and come 5th
This Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton, Button, Kubica, possibly Rosberg, are championship material. However if say Force India build the best car by a mile then obviously Di Resta and Sutil have a chance
I'd pick alonso, because Webber won't be able to beat Vettel in races, limiting his points, the McLarens will take points off each other, being evenly matched, which leaves Alonso, in the one driver only ferrari team. If he doesn't get second, Ferrari really have messed up.
It's a difficult question because anything can happen and there aren't many points separating 2nd and 5th. Ferrari are currently 3rd fastest and stopping 2011 development before McLaren and Red Bull. On that basis it will be hard for Alonso just to retain 3rd, let alone finish 2nd at the end of the year - but I voted for him anyway. Alonso has already done a great job this year. To be 3rd in the the championship is an incredible achievement given that Ferrari have been some distance behind McLaren and Red Bull this season. What makes this even more special is that he suffered with huge understeer, slow pit stops and bad strategy calls in the first five races of the season. I am confident that Alonso will finish ahead of Webber because in the races, Alonso is on another level in terms of driving ability. Webber is unable extract the full performance from his Red Bull while Alonso is on the limit - Turkey, Valencia and Australia are good examples. I know that Webber has performed a lot better recently, but Alonso has beaten Webber four times in the last five races. Keeping ahead of the McLaren drivers will be a lot harder, but still possible I believe. Hamilton lacks consistency and I think he'll make mistakes trying to outdrive Button and beat him in the Championship. Button is driving very well but qualifying is his weakness and I think if Alonso can take advantage of this, he will be able to stay ahead of Button by the end of the season. McLaren currently have the fastest car but that hasn't stopped Alonso outperforming the McLaren drivers - like when he overtook Hamilton at Spa. Vettel and Alonso have driven significantly better than the other drivers this season. I see them finishing 1st and 2nd.
Red Bull have by far the best car.... even on tracks that dont suit them so you would think the guy in the other Red bull car will get 2nd and secure his highest championship finish to date
Only in qualifying, and even then I think McLaren have missed a few opportunities to take pole like Malaysia, Monaco and Hungary.
lewis will finish the season strongly.if he doesnt finish second,he'll atleast finish the season with more points than button. he may be inconsistent, but he still manages to finish the season with more points than button. this seasons been a good one for lewis in many ways.this being his worst will teach him alot and make him alot better next season.
Minardi regularly scored points in the past. Webber was nowhere near the first guy to score points in a minardi. Did a decent enough job in it though.
