Vin I’m not doing your home work for you. I’m convinced if I was to highlight a quote you would say it meant something different. There has been quite a lot in the papers re his remarks over time. Some agreeing some disagreeing and other opinions. Non of which materialised.......the numbers out of work for instance he predicted a million may be out of work (so Im told) by the march deadline. Even the non brexiteers are doubting his figures. Re My remarks re the country Vin we have been in worse situations than not being able to cowtow to the likes of the EU. Mind you those that say we have wasted two years are not far wrong. We should have been negotiating with a lot more countries than we have.........and we have a right to although nothing can start until we exit the EU granted. You may not think I do not think of the youngsters Vin. I can assure you I do. However after conversations with my own youngsters and they with theirs I was in for a big surprise. Brexit has never been discussed within the family as far as I know and certainly not by me or the wife. I have 6 children all married........of those 4 voted (two of my boys are in the states so they and their wives could not vote although their older children are still in the uk) only one family voted for out. Only 13 of the grandchildren are of voting age in England All the grandchildren voted for out which was a total surprise, no exceptions so I gather. Non had a clue how each voted as far as I could tell. Their ages range from 30 down to 18 on the day of the vote by the way. Which in my mind judging by the waffle Ive heard on here every one was blaming the older generation for the way the vote went. Judging by my own experience I would suggest that is a load of codswallop. I agree in the short term the UK will have to make adjustments radical ones, but the truth is non of us really know how long it is going to take for us to recoup after we leave. I can understand why the stay campaigners are taking the worse scenarios, if the boot was on the other foot Im sure we would be doing the same. It was interesting also to find that the family that voted stay are high up in the finance world of Banking.........They mentioned they were gobsmacked at the BOE latest predictions.........Neither could make any sense of his calculations. Although granted the money men are nervous.........but when aren't they? sorry that we can't agree vin but I will buy you a pint next time I see you....
Firstly, the boe prediction is a 'worst case scenario '. Secondly, Rees Mogg, always so polite, called Carney ' a second rate Canadian Politician '. So polite coming from an experienced M.P. who has no ministerial record.
You have no idea how you sound do you? You decry predictions by people who know what they are talking about on no basis whatsoever - and call ME out for not doing research. Do you know how insulting that is? There isn't a Leave economic forecast. Leave is based on "It'll all be lovely" rather than ANY numbers. Yet, I'm meant to find them. You've clearly not found them or you'd link to them. You have shown time and time again that you literally cannot come up with anything the EU has ever done to make you hate it. All you have is a weird dislike of it based upon... frankly... a total lack of knowledge about how it works. Loads of mystery people in your family and friends ALL have exactly the same view as you. They KNOW things are going to be fine because of secret negotiations that you can't tell us about. EVERY member of your family, it seems, agrees with you. Family members ALL know more than the Bank of England. Your... Oh **** it. Not worth the energy. Well, I'm still struggling for us to remain. I'm writing a letter a day to MPs and the government to press for a referendum on the final deal now that enough people have realised what a monumental calamity we're heading for. Whats this BOE put out recently we'd be roughly 3%worse off in 15 years with Brexit and a hell of a lot more without (I forget the total if we reject......) Mirror quoting it would cost £100 Billion if we come out with no deal. My dislike is definitely not weird I can promise you. I wouldn't mind betting Ive had a bloody site more direct dealings than you have with the EU. Don't insult my family by suggesting they agree just with me. They too seem to know a lot more than you about the workings inside the EU. In light of the ongoing Brexit debate, I found these voting stats, that quite clearly show that the 18-24 and the 25-49 age groups were most pro Remain. 2016? Didn't they come out with new information later that corrected their original polling? I'm sure I heard somewhere from the master pollster Kellner that new research had shown the youth effect wasn't as much as was originally thought.
I mean, a very large percentage of the populace won't deserve it, but the UK as a political unit? Yeah. It's one thing to vote for a fanciful unknown; it's quite another to reaffirm that vote in the face of the inescapable reality that they Brexit of your dreams was never possible. And if a majority vote to touch the hot stove again, it'd be hard to sympathize when they're complaining about the burns.
