Agree with this, massively over-rated, a second rate striker who couldn't buy a goal who then got pushed back to midfield and just kicked people all day long. Everyone started saying he was a good midfield player when in actual fact, he was a failed striker
But to be fair, I don't recall any previous team-mates of his claiming that he was a disruptive influence inside the changing room bubble, and the fact Big Sam signed him twice probably means there wasn't any. His problems were clearly with other teams and perhaps society in general.

And Bristol City's biggest legend is........??? I personally wouldn't class Emile as a legend; he was a very good player for us, and a true fan for investing in our time of need, but he didn't quite achieve enough here to be given legendary status. Banks, Shilton, Weller, Birchenall, Glover, Worthington, Lineker, Lynex, Walsh, Lennon, Guppy and Izzet however......
Anybody know the last bristol city player who played for england? we have only had the odd one or two......banks.shilton, lineker,alan smith,heskey,worthington, weller, whitworth,guppy,among others... no match for gerry gow though.....or the legend that is ryan mcgiven,thats a real coup.....
Whilst he probably wasn't as good as a lot of the players you mention, he did infact achieve more with us than Shilton, Weller, Worthington, Lynex, etc. I think his donation to the club is quite significant too, just as Birchenall's work for the club is.
Well yes he did indeed achieve things as part of the very successful MON team that won two league cups and 4 top 10 finishes.....but the likes of Pontus Kaamark, Andy Impey and Ian Marshall were also part of that squad, and I doubt they could be classed as legends. My point was that he didn't achieve enough as an individual within that squad; yes he scored goals, but did he really have as much of a key impact on the team in general as Izzet, Lennon and Guppy did? I'd argue not, but nevertheless he was an important part of MON's machine and we never fully recovered after he left.

Yeh I take point. I supppose when I was younger I saw him as sort of the 'star striker' at the time, he and Izzet will always be up there for me as they were the first Leicester players I 'worshipped' if you like.
Dont bother engaging with any of the Bristol City lot on any 'informative' level. Your not allowed to retort with logic or simple facts! They base all of there arguments on personal opinions alone so you will not get any educated debate out of them. Best left alone i say
Emilio, I agree, Heskey was my favourite player at the time as well. In fact, 'Heskey 9' was the first ever LCFC shirt I had! I was gutted when we sold him to Liverpool as well. But, looking back now with greater hindsight, I do think that for all his strengths, he didn't give us as much as Izzet, Lennon and Guppy did in those wonderful years. As for the Diouf incidents, wow that is quite a catalogue. We'd certainly be brave to sign him. Although no doubt if we did, and he scored a hat-trick on his debut, we'd all forgive and forget and worship him as a new Foxes hero!
