Then climbed again. We have done the pound thing to death. Every time Carnage opens his mouth it dropped. Although last time after his 2012 disaster film prediction it doidnt. People are getting wise to him now.

After reading the insults from the remain camp and the project fear it only makes my resolve stronger. Not one of my leaver voter friends has changed their minds.

With respect Ellers, the average price of the £ against the $ - accounting for fluctuations - since the referendum is still significantly lower than pre-referrendum.

We can talk until the economics until the cows come home, but in truth, I think Col was right in a post a few pages back when he stated that many remainers still don't get that this simply wasn't about the economy. If it were, I truly don't think remain would have lost. I suspect that many Brexiters (as shown in the polling - here) think that economic damage is simply a price worth paying for Brexit / 'sovereignty' / immigration control.

Agree the pound did drop and because of uncertainty it probably hasn’t reached the heights it should have. Saying that the pound is resilient and will get stronger when we know what is happening. People forget Euro crisis. If this had happened in the EU their money would be worthless now. It is a good example of how good the pound is.

On Radio 5 this morning they had the idea of trying to get an element of reconciliation by asking people to phone in and give what they thought was the best argument of the opposing side in the Brexit argument. Perhaps that's something that we should do on here?

    I'll start..............................................................

So Donald Tusk says at the Argentina summit that “there will be no deal or no Brexit if parliament rejects mays Brexit Agreement”.
Firstly it is not up to him regarding no Brexit and he should keep his nose out of our affairs. Secondly with that comment will make Brexiteers even more resilient.

How did we ever let our country be in a position that un elected muppets from Brussels can tell us what to do? We really need to break from this group.

mmm that Liam Fox and Andrea Leadsom have decided that a position in the cabinet is more important than principles. When this vote fails I really hope they go along with May.

I think they want to stay inside the camp, so that when May fails to win over Parliament and the Tory Party oust her, Fox, Leadsom and Gove can say - "look how loyal we have been" when it comes to consideration for a new leader. Disloyalty rarely pays in the Tory Party, eg Heseltine with Thatcher

Agree. Portillio said that in Hammonds latest interview he said 10 times ‘the Prime Ministers deal’ and never once said ‘our’ or ‘cabinet’s deal’. It would seem they are all positioning themselves for when she falls.
A bit sad really because people like Fox and Leadsom were important political figures in the Brexit debate and now seemed to have slimed away.
Today on sky the presenter said to Fox that the majority of emails in said that he was putting his cabinet position before principles. Many were disgusted with him.

Sadly we should be able to trust the people we vote in to represent us.

Not sure how important the strength of a currency is (lower pound more exports), higher pound (more imports cheaper goods for us).

Agree that uncertainty is affecting the pound and investment. Not sure i understand the situation about if it happened to the EU the euro would tumble. Isnt brexit affecting the EU as well whether we exit nicely or not will affect their trade

So another unelected clown ( Tusk ) says there will be no Brexit, when Theresa the appeaser’s deal gets the boot in Parliament, it is this arrogance from Brussels which caused me to vote leave, the total disregard for a sovereign government and the will of the people of said sovereign nation.
It has been passed into law ( British Parliamentary Law ) that we will leave the EU on the said date, how dare an unelected buffoon of a failed politician dictate on what a sovereign nation has decided, he has no power, no right to tell our people, our government and our nation what we can and cannot do, and herein lies the problem with the morally bankrupt and corrupt EU they refuse to listen and refuse to accept that their plans for a United States of Europe have been scuppered by 17+million Britons and no amount of bullying or threats will change the fact that with or without a deal, we are leaving.

Bobby you need to have a good look at the Euro zone. There are so many poor countries or countries that don’t contribute. Why do you think the EU are so desperate to get money from us? Why do you think both France and Germany has tried to Knick some of our companies (and failed)? The Euro is stuck together with paper glue which will only degraded over time.
Just out of interest have you not seen the problems they are having with Italy and their reforms.
There will be another Euro crisis. Merkel is finished and on the way out. Macron is dead man walking and won’t get another term. He is the most disliked leader in France since WW2. Far right/populists growing, It’s not rocket science. When you have problems with the two main Euro countries there will be problems. Add their biggest net contributor leaving and you will get big problems.
The pound is the best currency. It’s resilient and trust over the World. The Euro isn’t. That’s not from me that is fact.
