What kind of state was your house when you first moved into it? It seems that something always needs done to it.

Old biddy used to live in there before she karked it. The place had mental carpets and a Stannah stair lift which, more recently, I am regretting getting shot of.

The first extension was finished years ago but I never got round to all the last little bits of snagging. Now that the new extension has been done by actual professionals parts of the house that haven't been decorated for a while are looking a bit tired so I am giving everywhere the once over apart from the main lounge which will get sorted out after all the Christmas decorations are down in January.

When one is a home owner certain standards are expected, something some folks on here don't have to concern themselves with. Still, Chez Grove will probably lose around £100k in value after Brexit so maybe renting really is the way to go.

<laugh> I stopped reading after you said you got shot of the stair lift. What kind of imbecile would partake in such lunacy?

I know. Sadly the plastering needed doing up the stairs so the Stannah had to go. There's always a bungalow as an option if the knees pack up.

Tomorrow: visiting relatives to drop off Christmas presents, getting a haircut, going to Christmas markets, Italian dinner

Sunday: walking through Craiglockhart Dell to Pentland Hills (depending on weather) and back in time to watch Celtic play the Sheep.

Never seen that brand before. What you got there Grove, 100w amp and head? What's the pedal board to the right of frame?

Stock shot of the amp so not my own rig or pedals. It's an Egnater Rebel 20 valve amp and 12" cab. Bruce Egnater used to do custom amp repairs and upgrades and worked for a number of other amp companies before setting up his own business. Certainly not a well-known brand like Marshall, Fender, Peavey etc but very nice clean tones and with an effects loop it takes pedals well. The Egnater Tweaker series are more widely known but I just wanted a small valve amp and cab instead of a combo and the Rebel 20w ticked the boxes.

Working on my own pedal board now, looking to get a power supply in the New Year instead of running everything off 9v batteries. Lessons are coming along ok but I'm still no Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Krankie more like. I plugged all the effects into the new amp and cranked it, my ears are still ringing!! For a small amp it certainly blew the cobwebs out of the shed, sorry, imaginary shed.

Certainly a case of 'all the gear but no idea' but it beats playing golf.
