Although our win in our last away game was a fantastic come back, it was only our 3rd away win of the season. Our other 2 was a last gasp winner from Hernandez at Stoke, and a fairly fortunate 3 points against WBA. Wolves might be bottom of the table, but it took a last minute goal from Park to see them off at Old Trafford. I'd like to say we can go on and win this, but with our form away from OT this season, I can see it ending in the points being shared.
The longer we go unbeaten though, the harder it's getting for our opponents psychologically. Even when they go a goal up, or equalise when we've been in the lead, the teams we've been playing don't seem to really believe they can win. As a result I think our away record will get better, as an opponent playing in fear is already half-beaten. I think Sun-Tzu said the same thing. Maybe.
matty elliot's balding cranium God you're boring. Bore off and stop boring everyone you boring bastard
I'd be more concerned if our rivals' form was better. Arsenal have put a decent run of results together, but against pretty poor opposition - five out of their last six games were against the bottom six, and they only managed to draw one of them. Chelsea are in good form atm, but unless we collapse (touch wood) they will struggle to overhaul us. City have dropped points to relatively mediocre opposition in both their last two games, and were hanging on to beat Wolves at home. In any normal season, our away form would be a cause for worry, but this season the other teams seem to be falling over themselves to give us the title. Every other team in the Prem has lost at least five games. If Arsenal go on a strong run now, we'll need to improve our away form, but with our next two games against Wolves and Wigan we should pick up at least four, and more likely six, points which will set us up strongly for the run in. That's the plan anyway.
Tomorrow will be another easy win. Expect it by four or five as Wolves are ****e and certainties for relegation.
It's hard not to be a little worried as our performances on the road in recent weeks have actually been worse than ever in recent weeks imo. The results have improved, against some poor opposition but the displays have actually gone down a level. West Brom and Blackpool are as badly as we've performed to date imo. If we go out and play like that again today, it will be a long 90 minutes.
"Anyone still worried about our away form?" hand up here. i'm ****ting it about our away form. the way we'll lose the title this season is by too many away draws. with regard to today, wolves have beaten city, chelsea and pool this season - so we shouldn't take them too lightly.
