Bet the mags are glad he is no longer their problem and putting that to one side, its sad to see a tallented player on the verge of throwing it all away, or is it? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ANDY CARROLL has been ordered for a second time to cut out his boozing. England coach Fabio Capello repeated his warning after Carroll failed to make the qualifier in Bulgaria. The £35m Liverpool striker has struggled to find his best form this season and was relegated to sub for his sideâs last game against Bolton. The Italian has gone on record as admitting he is worried about Carrollâs drinking habits. He has previously said: âWe have to help him and I hope he wants to im- prove in his private life. âHe is young and needs to improve and drink less.â ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Or is Capello over reacting?
What i do know is Carrol was married, with child and seperated before he was 20. Not saying it excuses the lad, but it's a hell of a lot to take on board at that age. I hope the lad gets it together, as England needs a striker of his ilk, whether he will, if he's still having the issues under a manager as influential as Kenny Dalglish, living in such a vibrant city as Liverpool, who knows.
When the club think putting you with a pisshead like Nolan willdo you good, you have big ****ing problems.
I would not be surprised if Carroll never fully achieves his potential. Even when he played for us I worried about his off-field activities, and he was sent back early from a loan spell at Preston because of some trouble off the pitch. I do not say this out of any bitterness towards the guy (personally I think that £35 million was far too good to turn down, even if the fat bastard won't bloody spend it), and I hope that Carroll proves me wrong, but I would be surprised if this season passes without us hearing about more trouble for Mr Carroll.
Another thing to consider though is Capello, and the Italian attitude to boozing. Going out on the piss is just a normal part of life in Britain, but it isn't in Italy and to Capello it will just seem like pointless, destructive behaviour. Didn't Mancini come out with something similar last season, saying his players shouldn't go out on the lash after a win but instead should pick up women like he used to do? I'm not making excuses for Carroll, as he has plenty of previous, just pointing out that the remarks came from Capello, not Dalglish.
It's Crapello saying it, so who gives a toss... Once KD starts saying it, he'll have to take notice, they pay his wages, not that piece of **** who is ruining our national game.
I think this is something Crapello should have said privately to Dalglish and Liverpool not in an open format via the British scum media. I dont think Kenny will be too happy with his counterpart and may well come out later today and politely tell the Italian plank to '**** right off' if you please. I know I would and I would hope Bruce would too.
now I may have picked this up wrong commo, you hide things so well, but I would say you aint a Capello fan, just a wild guess
I hate everything Capello does - he has the veneer of a professional football manger but really he's just a strumped up martinet carrying a sackful of prejudices around with him and has managed to collect a coterie of the bad-eggs of English football who consistantly fail to perform for their country.
That's always going to be a problem for Carroll, cant seem to walk away from a fight and cant seem to stay off the sauce, I wouldn't want to gloat in case he has genuine issues but the 35 million is looking sweeter by the day. Just a shame we haven't ****ing spent any of it.
Got to agree. Carole even to the most biased of us, did look to be a canny prospect for the England CF shirt. Doesn't bother me in the least if the lad goes out on the swallow, the thing he has to realise is he has a responsibility to the Liverpool supporters and to a lesser extent the England supporters. If his debauching is effecting his performance or aggravating injuries he needs to sort himself out. As has been said Crapello should have had a quiet word with KD, rather than a public smack on the arse. Bad management IMHO, as with Caroles attitude he will end up resenting the England manager.
Liverpool fan here. This is what Capello said... I've just read that in the newspaper. The quotes about booze were said 6 months ago and it's the Mail dragging the quotes back up.
It would appear that the common denominator with Gazza and Carroll is that they were both born in Gateshead. I just didnt realise that the town was so full of piss-heads. If that remark up sets a few, so be it.
From what I've seen of Carroll this season he has looked way off the player that played for Newcastle lat season. Hasn't looked to have anywhere near the quality he looked last season and therefore why is he getting picked for international? It's typical of the England setup IMO. I do think carroll has ability but he certainly hasn't shown much this season - he looked awful against us - finishing was poor and his touch was poor and, for me, form is the most important thing for England
