Why would we want Powell back? He is hardly pulling up trees at Southend. Lee Bowyer and Johnny Jackson are doing an excellent job.
Powell must have been "under pressure" as they say after 4 successive defeats at Southend, before SAturday's win. I hope he turns things round, but even if he doesn't it won't detract from his contribution at Charlton, as player and manager.

If any new owner wants to get fans onside he'd be well advised to offer BowJacko an extended contract. Sacking them would be a rerun of sacking Powell. And Riga first time round.
Seeing Powell at the Chris Solly dinner last night made me feel slightly nauseous - ditto the predictable response its provoked elsewhere. He is an average manager. Apart from one season in L1 with us, he has been poor with 3 clubs. His managerial record is very similar to Karl Robinsons. The politically infatuated wallys really need to "move on".
The 9th in the championship is also not a real representation of that season either we had a great run at the end when teams had switched off and that position hugely flattered us. some of our play under Powell was really not great to watch. Likeable man but would not be keen on him returning, he has big limitations as a manager
You are absolutely right, his style of football was extremely turgid, particularly in the Championship. David Wagner improved Huddersfield out of all recognition after Powell was sacked.
He has limitations,but also strengths. I'd be much more positive about him if he hadn't done the tunnel jumps. I still love him as a player.
