I dont think Carroll's start to the season has been that bad. He's put the ball in the net three times from 3 starts (never mind if the referee though 2 were offside). I think the reason we lacked creativity with him on against aresenal was because we didn't have Suarez, rather than because of Caroll himself, and also because the defenders could double mark caroll to lessen his strength from crosses/ set pieces. Carrol and Suarez against stoke?
I think its all blown out of proportion by a big mouthed italian who doesn't give a damn anymore and a massive transfer fee.
The telegraph is one of the few papers I can trust, it says nothing about alcohol on there. Capello says he needs to regain his form, and the tabloid newspapers have jumped onto the old story from 6 months ago.
I was thinking the same thing. However, this is does not hide the fact that Carroll seems to be showing less commitment then the rest of his teammates. People have argued that it's because he's not fully fit but how much time does he need? Has he not had pre-season to gain fitness like everybody else? Even playing to his strengths (attacking the ball with his head) has not hardly worked - Downing put in some good crosses but AC seemed reluctant to jump in.
