Agree with most of them mate, though I wouldn't have Ramsay above Adam and Parker. And I'd say Downing is better than Gervinho at least for the moment. Although I agree with the King one, there's no doubt people will say as he's too injury prone how can he be better blah blah blah. Will be good to see this at the end of the season to see if minds have been changed - Mertesacker and Santos could turn out to be great signings for the goons (though hopefully not!) and Kelly and Walker will wanna make an impression to try and be in with a chance of the Euro's, as will Henderson.

Please don't feed the Scousers and Gooners ;-)

For the record I'd have: Reina, Sagna, King, Vermaelen, Ekotto, Parker, Modric, VDV, Gervinho, Van Persie, Bale.

I'd agree about Ramsey being picked ahead of Parker and Adam as being a joke, but King and Vermaelen are far better defenders than Carragher.
The only thing that he's got over them is a lack of injuries.

King?? He never plays!! You have to take everything into consideration, including injuries. I agree that Carra isn't the player he was, but he is still a very efficient defender. Carra in his prime was in a different league to King and Vermaelen. Currently, taking everything into consideration I would say King<Carra<Vermaelen.

Lets face it - You're going to say King and I'm going to say Carra <ok>

I thought that this was solely based on ability.
i.e. If all were available to play, who would you have in your strongest XI?

This article is far too ambiguous and therefore too much work for a Monday morning. I demand it be re-written clearly or closed. <grr>

Yeah it all depends how you read it I guess.

To be fair to the OP though his views are a lot less biased than the similar threads that have recently appeared on the Arsenal board <ok>

I doubt that many non-Liverpool fans would agree with this.

I think that most of the Arsenal articles have been created by trolls, by the way.
    They're not that delusional.

Also taking into account Kelly is a CB - and was originally only played at RB due to injury.

To be fair he has played over 670 times for Liverpool and has been one of our best players of all time. I think anyone that can recognise a true club legend would agree that Carra is a fantastic player. You probably haven't followed his whole career but I have never seen a defender (other than the obvious world greats) read the game like he does, also his ability to organise those around him is second to none.

Rivalry aside you can't suggest his career has been anything less than magnificent.

Everyone has a different view about who is in Spurs 'best' team, never mind a joint selection, but what all these posts suggest is that the three squads are very similar in quality so there's everything to play for. I happen to agree with the OP that Spurs are a little ahead with Liverpool second and the Arsenal third, but depending on injuries, how the teams gel, tactics and luck they could finish in any order.

There has been a lot of doom and gloom on here since the window closed but Spurs have improved a squad that came fifth last year while getting to the CL quarter finals, despite all of our strikers playing like **** and our goalkeeper slipping up a few times. I'd be disappointed if we were not at least fourth this season.

I think that's what's blinded you to his obvious limitations.
He's been an outstanding servant to Liverpool, but he's almost always been the lesser part of a partnership, for me.
He'll go down as one of your legends and deserves to after playing for the club for so long and having substantial success, but he's never been truly top-notch.
I think his England career reflects that.

He's scored some great goals for us, though!

It's fair to say no one is going to be persuaded on who's better out of King and Carragher.

Naturally I'd say King - Ability to read the game, timing of tackles and headers, influence on the team is amazing and I read somewhere that King has never been sent off and has only picked up something like 9 yellows in his career, if anyone can clarify that would be cool as that's an amazing stat for a centre back if true (though I suppose some could argue the fact that he hasn't played enough to judge properly on), also Thierry Henry did say he's the best centre back he's played against, so surely that counts for something right? :D

Carra is a legend for you guys no doubt and is also a world class centre back, it's just we (or most anyway) Spurs fans would say King's better.

Quite simply - You guys follow Kings career and we follow Carra's career. An agreement is never going to happen <ok>

All I can say is that Carra's true professionalism and dedication to football should be recognised by all football fans - rivalry aside. You don't play 670+ games for one of the top English teams without being a fantastic footballer.

King is god when fit, as Henry said he was the toughest defender he played against in the PL. He could make a solid tackle without making a foul regularly, it's a shame for you guys that he misses a lot of games.

Hope this helps he´s had only 8 yellow cards which is quite incredible for a CB.
