    QPR, Villa and Blackburn.

These 3 games will give us a good indication of what we can expect this season. for me these are the bench mark games that we have to be getting results from. our record against top 4 sides last year was well documented but lets be honest our season will not generally be shaped by the results of those games.

its the teams around us that we need to be beating. true, we needed to pick up victories against the big boys to balance the books after throwing points away against lesser lights at times last year but usually we'd get a thrashing and we'd say at least we tried and it wouldn't make too much difference. I think its difficult to pick up wins away from home even though we did well at this last year. we have a very different starting 11 this year and 2 of our next 3 are away from home. I don't think its unrealistic to hope for a home win and maybe one away win or 2 away draws.

how we cope at QPR could make all the difference to how things will pan out against Villa. We need to make sure we set the tone to gain the max possible from the following matches. I think in 3 games time we should be able to see how we're going to fair until January.

would you be inclined to agree??

By rights we should be beating all three. Yeah QPR have strengthened & so have Villa to an extent but we're still far better than both of them.

I think we'll beat QPR by an ood goal, draw against Villa and beat Blackburn by our recent form.

i think 'on paper' we should be beating them but ts always a different kettle of fish away from home. i'm not impressed by QPR's 'strengthing' as the only player i rate that they've brought in is barton. getting rid of Anton ferdinand is the best piece of business that sunderland did all window. they'll live to regret throwing money around at the likes of him and SWP.

I reckon if we could hold out defensively, we could nick an odd goal against both and get at least a draw. QPR aren't really in the best form at home (Bolton beat them by 4) and Villa keep on drawing.

it hink the defence will be the key as well. we have people that can nick us a goal but as long as we're strong at the back they have to attack us when we're playing away from home leaving gaps for us to exploit.

I reckon we'll draw at QPR, draw at Villa, win against Blackburn.

Always feel we get slipped up by newly promoted teams, and they're at home, and they have improved with latest additions like Barton.
As with Villa, can't see us really getting a win out of this. Away from home, think we'll thrash out a bore draw or maybe a 1-1. They drew against Wolves at home though last week, no reason why we can't go for the win I suppose. Draw written all over it for me.

And Blackburn, I think we'll get a win out of. Games against them last season frustrated me but they're in poor form this season so far. Confident we could pick up the 3 points.

That'd be 12 points from 6 games. Although all that puts us unbeaten after 6 games. That's hard to believe, really. So there could be a slip up somewhere.

I think we'll beat QPR. Good players, but they won't be a team. We have better players in all areas and I reckon we'll sneak it.

I think we will lose at Villa. Its on of those grounds where we see to do nothing. But, who knows, we may spring a surprise but I will be happy with a point.

I think we will beat Blackburn, just. They have won the last 5 at St James', odds are we should win this one! It will be scrappy and boring like Fulham but 1-0 will do me.

Overall I think I'd be happy with 5 points, 6 would be great, 7 even better, 9...wow. If we don't get any then I will be worried but in typical NUFC fashion, we'll draw 1 and lose 2.

Blackburn have been a real bogey side in recent years but i really do think they;re going to struggle this year. their manager is a total no mark and hes already under pressure from owners more clueless than ours. only the Yak can save them if he gets on the goal trail in my opinion.

Id rather have 5 or 7 points than 6 because for 6 well have to lose our unbeaten record. If we lose 1 I reckon we could go on a bad run and I don't want that

I think that we will narrowly win at QPR, lose or draw at Villa and beat Blackburn.

So 5-6 points would give us a total of 12-13 points from 6 games which I would consider to be a great start to the season bearing in mind that the new players are going to need time to get up to speed.

It would also mean that we would need a further 28 points from 32 games to stay up! (always my first worry)

thats the way i look at it too. the plus side being i don't think we'll really hit top gear in terms of the whole squad gelling for a month or two. so if we get those points on the board early we can only get better baring a significant defensive injury.

Blackburn always do us, wouldn't shock me if they picked up their first win against us. To be honest I think all 3 games will be tough, yes we've been solid but we've hardly set the world alight. I'd be seriously pleased if we managed 5 points from these games.

A think we can get maximum points from these 3 games, QPR have bought recently but the players won't gel, we defo can beat vill but blackburn will be more difficult, but we could be them on our form if we play well otherwise we will draw as I cannot see Krul letting in too many this season, he is in great form

i will be gutted if we don't beat blackburn. of the three i'll be most gutted to go down to them. i know we don't usually do well against them but this year is different. the villa game i could forgive and QPR is going to be very difficult but i reckon we have more quality than them, i just fear the barton factor.
