Good game, tighter than it first looked but Barnsley are no mugs and to score four goals against a promotion rival is immense.
    The lads must feel invincible.

Hardest game of us, Posh, Luton and Pompey tonight.

Four goals against a top in form team and some will still whinge.

Ross is brave with his tactics and subs.

What a game of football, it had everything. 2 teams giving it large. Even at 0-3 they never thought they were out of it. At times in the first half we went from sublime football to sunday league. But it keeps you on the edge. BUT we must learn to manage the game. 3 up in 30 mins is not game over. Anyway a massive 3 points against what could be the best of the opposition. All in all am a happy bunny.

Phew. Tough one, that. But 40 points in the bag already and a team that just won't quit. Happy days... :)

After a tough game on Saturday, this was a huge performance, every player contributed, no one more than McGeady who has that bit extra class that makes a difference.

    Player Ratings
Jon McLaughlin, 7/10: Solid game from the Scottish stopper. Unlucky for both goals as he made several decent saves. Solid under the high ball, too.
Reece James, 6/10: Decent display from the full-back, solid if unspectacular.
Jack Baldwin, 6/10: Made some good tackles, but struggled against Kieffer Moore.
Tom Flanagan, 6/10: Some good work in and out of possession, but also struggled against the physicality of Moore and co.
Adam Matthews, 7/10: Offensively brilliant, but Barnsley found some real success with the long diagonal in behind the Welshman.
George Honeyman, 9/10: Absolutely class. Threw himself into every tackle, and grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck when we needed him to. A true captain’s performance.
Max Power, 6/10: Understandably quiet this evening. Recycled the ball effectively and defended dilligently.
Aiden McGeady, 8/10: Won the penalty, scored the penalty. Assisted Gooch. Assisted O’Nien. Class going forward. Tired, but that’s to be expected.
Lynden Gooch, 7/10: Fantastic goal and great energy. Struggled a little against a physical opponent, but a solid game.
Chris Maguire, 7/10: Great energy and some nice touches. Should have done better when able to round the keeper, but a good shift nonetheless.
Josh Maja, 7/10: Great goal, but should have had another. Clinical and held the ball up well at times despite the opposition’s physicality.
(SUB), Luke O’Nien 7/10: Great finish, and the legs we needed to take the game back to Barnsley.
(SUB), Jerome Sinclair 6/10: Pressed well, but had little time to make any real impact.
(SUB), Bryan Oviedo X/10: Not enough time to make a difference.
Man of the Match: George Honeyman.

Huge result tonight! I think that makes the comeback game at the weekend look even more significant. The momentum and euphoria from extending the unbeaten run clearly carried on into the start of tonight's performance. They might not be the most talented SAFC team on paper but I honestly can't remember feeling such a strong connection with a group of players in all my time following the club!
